My coastal fort with 254mm guns is traveling 30 knots. They should be in fixed position. This is Finland Coastal Fort - it's "mobile vehicle" in database which it should not be. Facility #223.

Should I report this to database or is it something else?

Also Soviet AS-10 ARM-missile is not firing surface radars. Are they programmed only fire to air-radars?

I think all non self propelled artillery should count as static. I had batteries rolling all over the landscape like some sort of steampunk landships myself, though only 130mm guns in my case.

I think arty batteries should remain mobile. In reality each battery comes with trucks to move them around. They may not change their positions as fast as self propelled ones but should be able to move.

Sorry, but not in Finland. The coastal arty forts or strongholds are fully statics. In a way, it is a light version of the late "ligne Maginot"

Yes, but batteries with guns like 152 H 37 or 130 K 54 should be mobile.

They have trucks or tracked vehicles to move them but it takes time to move and sight in a battery.
While the vehicles and guns could change positions in a relatively short time (probably minutes until ready to move) getting the guns set up for any sort of accurate fire again takes time.
True "scoot and shoot" capability didn't come until the late 80s.

Ok, did not know. Anyway, Nowadays, this Finnish coastal line of defense has been replaced by swedish mobile (on trucks) anti-surface missiles (I think RBS-15)

Yes, Finnish Coastal Artillery (joined to Finnish Navy 1998 I think) today have missiles and some towed coastal guns. It's all in database. But problem is that fixed coastal artillery suddenly is going 30 knots. I made group of them, probably that set them move. But fixed arty should be static in any case.

I used coastal arty, removed one gun from it. Added second unit and made group of them. I believe grouping them made them move. Here's 4 knots, but I've seen another going faster.

This is 1988 Finland scenario and that time Finland had many fixed position traditional coastal forts with artillery. Mainly 120mm and 105mm but also older stuff like 254 mm. Currently 254mm is only gun available in database so I use that. Barrel alone weight more than 22 metric tons. Not movable by trucks. :)

in Operation Sling of David, 2014.scen Iranian SSM's move around to, you can launch them when there moving.

I think coastal fort going 30 knots is database issue. Finland 254 mm Coastal Fort is marked as "Mobile Vehicle" and not "building" as other countries coastal artys. I found also few radars with the same issue. I posted this to DB update thread under mods. Hopefully eventually it will be fixed. It's not a game breaker thing but pretty annoying.

If deploying time could be implemented for mobile SSM, AAA guns, etc. it would be even better. Some mobile artys are pretty fast to deploy, but some take longer time. Modern systems may even fire on the move, older towed guns may need several minutes or longer to deploy. Example 23mm AA gun can be mounted on truck or fixed position. When towed by truck it can be deployed to fire under 30 secs (yes, I have seen it). Mostly still they are on fixed position.

WAD. Faithful move-stop-deploy-shoot-packup-leave for ground units is not implemented ATM.

Have corrected the 254mm facility. Also, in the latest builds you also have the ability to order mobile systems to stay in one position.

Yes the AA-10 ARM is air-to-air only. Why would you want to use it in A/G mode? Just curious [8D]

Ups. I wasn't using aa-missile :D, instead anti-radar missile. I was looking for HARM missile capable to knock out surface-to-surface coastal radar. Missile was AS-9 Kyle [Kh-28] anti-radar missile. It seems it cant find lock on surface radar. I tried SEAD and land attack missions but Su-24 Fencer uses only guns to attack surface radar.

SEAD-mission is of course is for SAM-radars only. But wonder is AS-9 able to knock out surface radars too?
