is it possible to put different size brushes for the editor map, so it can easier and fast to make the maps?

Possible? Probably. High priority? No, not with so many other worthwhile wish list items in the queue.

but eventually it will happen some day right?

Quite possibly, but nowhere soon.

IIRC pressing Shift while clicking a hex paints all the adjacent hexes as well. Pressing Ctrl paints the row from previous hex to all the way to hex you clicked. Or something like that. I am not by my computer atm but this should be easy to try out.

You are correct, Petri!

So it seems! There really is a first time for everything [X(] [;)]

From the manual, page 110 of the PDF version:

---

Fill – To quickly fill in large areas of your map with one particular terrain type or elevation, there are two “fill” features that you can use.

Cluster Fill – Hold down the SHIFT key when left clicking a “full hex” terrain type on the map to fill-in the clicked-on hex, as well as the six adjacent hexes. This does a 7-hex “cluster” fill.

Rectangular Fill – Hold down the Ctrl key after selecting the upper left corner, then, while continuing to depress the Ctrl key, click on the lower right hex to have the selected terrain type filled in.

After using either Fill feature, you may want to touch them up so they do not look like they are placed on the map in a pattern. Adding or removing some terrain hexes to the outer edges will make the terrain fill look more natural.

There really is no substitute for time spent making a good map though. Using Google Earth or a period map, with an overlay, for very realistic maps!! I gave up doing "quick" maps a few years ago, after discovering the two mentioned other ways of making them!!

i see

LoneWulf63 -> RE: read this (12/2/2013 8:13:35 AM)

The best way is the way that Mike (Warhorse) mentions. Google Earth with period maps and hex grid overlays. The only way I will ever make my maps. Otherwise, it is just a big guessing game. CB

Google Overlay technique and other hints / tips for making scenarios can be found from the Blitz document archive:
