I have a device I have used for flight sims that allows for the easy mapping of frequently used keyboard commands. In the flight sims this has two benefits, one is it adds a little more realism and the other is to break things out like a labeled keyboard overlay in that it makes it much easier to find and use quick key strokes for a desired command. The device I have is easy to repurpose and I figured since MWiF has my attention right now and flight sims do not I would repurpose it to use within MWif for the keyboard overlay function described above. Without much experience yet it seems to me that the keyboard commands associated with screen layout and map views and a couple of the function keys would be good. So, for those that have been spending time with MWiF, which keyboard commands do YOU find yourself using the most frequently?

Thanks Steve, I've actually got the Mouse Keyboard Help 3 bitmat image copied to the desktop right now. Thing is that the device I have (CH Products MFP,) has the ability for 25 keys out of the box but I did not want to just map all of them or as much as I could on it....from experience with the flight sims to keep it useful and uncluttered, I just map the most frequently used commands. I have not really actually played a lot with MWiF (still going through the books and re watching the vids) so right now with minimum actual in game navigation, for me the most frequent seem to be those associated to the screen layout and maps views. Just was looking to see what others seem to be using the most.

Hmm...by far the most common key I use is Ctrl-P for the Production summary screen. Ctrl-H (Units in Hex) and Ctrl-G I usually use only once, then leave the form up. +/- for zoom. Some of the function keys. Oh yes...Ctrl-T for the Trade agreements occasionally, as they will change during the game. Not a lot of in game keystrokes. Mouse work for the rest.

Ctrl Q for the Pools form. Checking out reserves and reinforcements. Ctrl U for Unit Review. In combination with the unit filter it helps find subsets of units on the map. F8 for supply. Not used that often but important at times, and that it's the F8 key is hard to remember.
