Hokum -> Why are they out of supply? (12/2/2013 12:32:11 PM)

As the title says, I do not understand what's happening here.[&:]
I railed all the Japanese HQs to Manchuria to try to fix this, but no, they will go out of supply immediately. Weather is fine, and there are convoy points in China Sea.

Save the game and reload. I hear that fixes this, and re-calculates supply.

Indeed, it worked [&o]

There must be something wrong with supply pathing in Manchuria; at the start of each USSR impulse, all Japanese units immediately turn out of supply, you have to reload the game to fix it.

Wow, I didn't know it was every impulse.

If you can make a save where a single land move causes the units to lose supply, the save could be useful debugging what's going wrong. I've heard this can happen after moving units too.

it is a bigger issue.

the capital in Manchurian should be a secondary supply source.

so they should be in supply even with out HQ

Would still mean you need a railway supply path back to Japan for the Japanese units (you can see the Manchurian units, MIL and TERR are actually in supply), and the rail path from one of the HQ to coast and back to Japan would be shorter (I presume the shorter paths get preference, there is no such rule though).

This happened in other places in China/Burma as well. Esp. with weather in the loop (unclear from the screenshot). Coastal hexes are usually fine (in this screenshot as well), which also means that supply tracing via South China Sea is fine. The critical part happens somewhere inbetween the coastal hexes and the HQs.

p.s.: for supply strangery it is helpful to have the F8 window on the screenshots.

True, althought the F8 window is only really useful to show what the game THINKS is in supply. If it doesnt, then it doesnt show up in the F8 and you cant see WHY the game thinks its NOT in supply, which is really what we care about, methinks.

Agreed :/ Would be nice to know where exactly the supply link fails.
