Dobey455 -> Modify A/C Loadouts (12/2/2013 1:40:58 PM)

I may have missed something, but is there a way to add or edit the loadouts that can be assigned to an aircraft?
I know that in the editor I can add a weapon record for an A/C in flight, but when the A/C lands the record appears to be lost - ie if I go to rearm only the default loadouts are an option.

Is there a way to change the number or type of weapons an A/C can carry so that it can utilize other loadouts for the duration of the campaign?

Not currently, sorry.

If you need a loadout that is also used in real life then let us know and we'll add it [8D]

Thought about this one too... Your fighters return having expended some air to air ordnance, so an odd number (relative to the normal loadouts is require to re-arm). Towards the end of the scenario say you have 7 AIM-120's left and you need to launch a 2 ship - oops you can't because the loadout editor won't let you... of course IRL you would put 4 on one aircraft and 3 on the other (launching one AIM-120 light)... this would be more the point I think...

Yes. Being able to add a custom loadout will hopefully be added in future. The notion that only standard loadouts are put on an aircraft or not launched at all seems silly. Custom loadouts happen quite often DR when called for.

Is that documented anywhere. My understanding is the aircraft arming procedures and protocols are pretty locked in. 1980's onward loadouts took significant work to set up so standardization was key to a quality process. Not saying it didn't happen, but I have seen no documentation on frequency.

We actually do research real life load outs frequently. You'll notice a lot of mixes during the Enduring and Iraqi Freedom eras.
