ORIGINAL: Sabre21 For several days now, myself and Bloodybill have tried to get a global game going on Netplay. Both of us are updated to version 1.05. A couple days ago we almost made it to the end of turn 1 when it crashed and we couldn't get anything to reload. Initially we were having a crash every 20 or 30 minutes, then it became more frequent. The message screen turns off at times by itself when progressing to a new phase, some times it does and some times it don't. But when it does, there for a while if either of us brought it back up, the game would crash. It seemed as though as the game progressed, things started to get weird. Bill (Axis player) made a port attack onto the Polish convoy in port killing it. The icon stayed on the map on his screen but disappeared from mine. Then during land movement he overran that icon with a ground unit, but it stayed there on his map while I was pondering why he went there when nothing was there. A couple phases later, he declared war on Denmark and Holland but I as the Allies never had any window pop-up indicating he did so and of course I didn't put any minor country forces. When it came time for him to move he thought I just decided not to put anything down, but then he found out he couldn't enter either country. We reloaded and tried again and had the same results. So then we started again with a setup save and tried the Polish port attack only to find out the same ghost ship was on his screen and not mine so we cleared all the old saves off our computers and started from scratch figuring many of them had been corrupted some how. At one point we made it to the French turn and I made a port attack onto where he had his amphib and it crashed the game. So port attacks are really causing issues with us right now. We ran into the same issues using a fresh start-up. So after 7 or 8 hours we gave up and tried again today and made it to where he broke down a Jap land unit and then decided not to and tried to reform it and the game crashed. We tried to reload a previous save but with no luck so after 3 complete setups and 7 hours we gave up and am hoping something is done soon to address these issues with netplay, for neither one of us has had these problems in solitaire mode. I summarized the issues below, I may have missed some: 1. Chat window disappears at times on its own and when brought back up sometimes but not always crashes the game; 2. Port attacks are causing some unusual things to happen that may be corrupting the game; 3. Breaking down and reforming units in the same phase is causing the game to crash (maybe due to game corruption) 4. Savegames not reloading even though all data matches between the 2 players (again I think game corruption is the culprit at this point). Maybe after extended periods there is some memory leak occurring somewhere. Hopefully all this can be figured out. I just ran port attacks on Leningrad without any problems: I ran a port attack on Leningrad (surprise die roll of 2). Germany spent 2 surprise points to achieve 2 to damage and 3 to abort. Germany chose the first target, the USSR chose the second, Germany chose the third and then spent 3 surprise points to choose the fourth, and also chose the fifth. All of this proceeded correctly. At this point I see no problems with Port Attacks for NetPlay.
