waldanen -> Generals and wounds (12/9/2013 8:09:43 PM)

Hi all,

New to the game and see not many new posts here so bit worried I am really coming to the game late!

Be that as it may. In my game last night good ole R.E. Lee was wounded at the battle of Fredricksburg. I kept fighting with his brigade till the battle was won. - he died.

So, my question is; if I had stopped using that brigade in combat would his odds of not dying been better or was it a simple "die roll" at the end of combat that killed him?

Your Generals should remain in action and face additional risk of injury; that's probably what happened to Marse Robert in your game. Once wounded they no longer provide any benefits so keeping them in the front line may prove counter-productive. However you may re-attach Generals to other brigades during detailed combat and if I recall correctly this can also apply to wounded as well. Select the unit with the General you wish to reassign, place the cursor over the destination brigade and press the "g" key. I think the details are somewhere in the Manual or one of the readme files.

FoF is a great game that still sees use on my computer. Good Luck with it.
