By sheer luck I have found that sometimes I am able to proceed past what appears to be a ‘frozen’ A2A combat window by using the mouse to click on the two MWIF icon located on the taskbar. I first click the left icon which brings up the main MWIF window (i.e. Play World in Flames, Tutorials and video, etc). Then I click on the other MWIF icon.
When I do this, a new window appears in front of the ‘frozen’ window. This new window is the next one in the sequence of the A2A combat phase and I proceed as per normal.
I have only tried this in Solitaire and Hotseat. I am running Windows 7 and MWIF version 1.05.
Please let me know if anyone else has tried this?
Note: This does not work all of the time.
