Panpiper -> Game launch screen bug (12/17/2013 1:51:05 PM)

Approximately half the time I launch Distant Worlds (Shadows), I get the screen shown below, where most of the screen is hidden by what appears to be a pitch black overlay. This occurs right after the opening animation (the one with the binary code). Nothing inside this overlay is clickable. Clicking outside of it achieves nothing, it does not behave like a window. As the black portion covers all menu options, I have no choice but to Ctl/Alt/Del out of the program to try again. I am running Windows Vista with a low end graphics card that has no problems actually 'playing' the game.

Most of the time the bug looks like the above. Very occasionally it will come up as below.
