You can mark a contact as hostile, but you cannot tell "your staff" to assume it's a given type of ship for example. I explain : if the emissions from the contact enable you to narrow down the possible type to only a few (one of which is an hostile one), maybe you want to assume that it's a bad guy, and take into account its weapons' range. If you could say : ok, let's assume it's a Perry, and it has harpoons with 75 NM range, and see it on the map, it would be helpful.
