HerzKaraya -> TOE update question (12/19/2013 9:18:42 PM)

Hi,

I'm trying to setup an upgrade path for the TOE of a given Division and havenīt have much luck yet.

Letīs say I have 1st Div with a TOE of 200 Inf Squads and 10 Mortars in 1941 in slot 3300.
I set the TOE ID to slot 2010, which is my TOE for the '41 Inf div. Delay is 0 and Upgrade TOE 0.

So location 2010 has a delay of 9999, TOE ID of 2010, Upgrade TOE of 2011, 200 Inf Squads, 10 Mortars.
Location 2011 ('43 Inf) has a delay of 430101, TOE ID of 2011, Upgrade TOE of 2012, 220 Inf Squads, 10 Mortars, 10 AFVs
Location 2012 ('45 Inf) has a delay of 450101, TOE ID of 2012, Upgrade TOE 2012, 250 Inf Squads, 10 Mortars, 20 AFVs.

Obviously I want my 1st Inf Div to go through those changes in TOE at the given dates.
But it doesn't work....it always stays with the initial TOE.

On top of that, checking some of the existing scenarios, some TOEs have a 220 or 221 as a value in the HQ Type box, even if theyīre not HQs.
What are these values good for?

Any help is appreciated.

Loc 2010 should have the delay for the next upgrade i.e

2010 delay 430101
2011 delay 450101
2012 delay 0

this has worked for me

My info says
HQ Type
220 = Japanese TOE
221 = Allied TOE

HerzKaraya -> RE: TOE update question (12/21/2013 5:20:55 PM)

Thank you both for your help, Iīm updating my database with your input and we'll see.

The manual isnīt very specific, isn't it?! [:D]

HerzKaraya -> RE: TOE update question (12/23/2013 2:09:36 PM)

Well, my scenario starts June 22nd 1941 and many updates are due in August, September,...well before the usual December 7th start.
When I select the ground unit list, those units with "early" updates appear with a "-" o even a "-1" and if you hover over them the text shows "update available or update now". BUT, it doesnīt update and stays the same till 1945, even if later updates are scheduled.

I have set all Japanese TOEs to 220 and all Allied updates to 221, I have set the delay of the first update to the date of the second TOE appearance just as you said, but something isnīt working right...

Thank you again

witpqs -> RE: TOE update question (12/23/2013 2:14:56 PM)

I thought 1941 December 7 was the earliest game date that the code supported??

drw61 -> RE: TOE update question (12/23/2013 4:32:53 PM)

I agree with witpqs, pretty sure that Dec 7 is the earliest you can get it to work correctly

HerzKaraya -> RE: TOE update question (12/23/2013 11:51:33 PM)

Well, everything else worked fine before the December 7th start date, with the exception of December 7th surprise and now this TOE update problem.

Looks like I have to move the dates on 200 planes, 100 devices, 1000 squadrons, 1000 LCUs, 1000 Leaders and 5000 Pilots back 5 and a half months...

Easy peasy....

HerzKaraya -> RE: TOE update question (1/21/2014 9:56:14 PM)

Well, after the holidays Iīm back and still have the same problem with my LCUs not updating their TOEs.

I have moved EVERYTHING back to start at the December 7th date and updated al delays accordingly.

Everything works fine with the exception of the TOE upgrade.

If you check the LCU list all the units, may it be Japanese or Russian, that should have changed their TOEs have a "-1" listed under TOE.
If you hover over the given unit, the info box shows "upgrades are ON, unit can upgrade now" but it doesnīt! Or do I have to tell every unit to do it manually?

I attach my scenario (number 51, careful not to overwrite your stuff).

Beware, it uses a different map and pwhexe file because it is the Russian Front... but you can open it perfectly with the editor.

HerzKaraya -> RE: TOE update question (1/21/2014 9:57:59 PM)

And here a save game file around 18 month into the game (testing, no combat)

michaelm75au -> RE: TOE update question (1/25/2014 2:21:26 PM)

Loaded save and ran turn after setting 1. Finn Div to Rest/Training.
OPERATIONAL REPORT FOR Feb 28, 43
1. Finn Division's TOE was upgraded to '42 Finn Division at Helsinki

HerzKaraya -> RE: TOE update question (1/26/2014 10:09:16 AM)

Thanks for testing it Michael, I answered on the other Thread.
Youīre right it was WAD, I just didnīt have the units on REST/TRAINING....[:@]
