bsq -> B480 Sensor Line of Sight Issues and Missile Intercepts Off. (12/20/2013 6:05:22 PM)

In build 480 I am seeing LOS issues, which I am starting to understand as being distinct from other related issues reported earlier and fixed.

In the save attached, if you run it for a while you will see some really odd tracking behaviour.

The radars are definately drawing line of sight through terrain that should block them. They are tracking Tomahawks flying NoE in valleys and then passing this info to SAM systems allowing them to fire blind on targets that they should not be able to engage.

The save can also show how SA-17 modelling is way off. It is a SARH system with Inertial Pro-nav. Not wanting to get too technical here, but how (when the target needs to be illuminated by the Chair Back) is the missile being guided to the target. The Chair Backs are switched off and the missile appears to be fitted with a data-link - really - where is this info from as I can only find details about it being SARH as per SA-11 and SA-6. The TTR and Illuminator both need to have constant LOS to the target - thats just how the system works.

Finally the SA-3 takes down the leakers - it is height limited to 160 feet, the Tomahawks are at 60 feet. Ran the save and watched the SA-3 'impact' the tomahawks whilst seperated vertically by about 11000 feet (2 Statute Miles if you like).

Thanks for looking at this and real sorry things seem off. We know its important to you to fix this. We're on break for a bit but will take a look when we get back.

Thanks!

Mike

Mike, I really do appreciate all the work you guys do and really just wanted it logged to be looked at. I will carry on building the scenario with what I have, which is awesome in its own right.

My expectations (regarding some 'behaviours') are probably 'tainted' by real life and I understand I am pushing the game places not many others take it to, but please please take that as a testament to how good this is (honestly it is as good as some of the 'toys' I get to play with in my day job - which cost millions to develop and run - and here we all are on our pc's costing between $500 and $2000 and a $100 peice of software)

You guys have a well deserved break and, if I keep posting here, I don't expect anything other than to be just logging it on here for now, just so I dont forget to report it myself...
