I suspect there will be as much chance of a "sorry I was wrong" from you re the AI, as there has been from those naysayers re MWIF...

Oh, ouch! [&o] [:D] ...and a big +1.

I have had great success using GoToMyPC in playing "netplay like" using solitaire mode. Both players, or multiple players, can all play together. Yes, the hosting player will need to pay $80/year subscription fee. But its a nice bridge waiting on fixes to netplay.

Zorachus99 -> RE: NetPlay (12/24/2013 5:38:28 PM)

I also tried this, but my opponent found the interface too laggy.

shaddock -> RE: NetPlay (12/24/2013 5:48:41 PM)

My partner and I decided it was a bit too much going back and forth with the game files.
We'll stick with netplay as it comes playable.

Teamviewer works as well and is free. But yes there is a bit of lag..

So 8 months on since the last post and NETplay still does not work. Will it ever I wonder?

paulderynck -> RE: NetPlay (9/14/2014 6:59:05 PM)

NetPlay is up next to be worked on by the programmer, after some of the worst naval bugs get squished.

Thanks Paul, that's good news.

Posting rules aside, the question is legitimate and I'd like to see answers.

I think it's pretty clear the answer is no... (Which, interestingly enough is the same answer to the question "Will this game ever have an AI?").

You know that do you? Funny, there were many posts like this from people confidently stating that MWIF would NEVER come out.

I suspect there will be as much chance of a "sorry I was wrong" from you re the AI, as there has been from those naysayers re MWIF...

I've come back three years after release for my "sorry I was wrong". Oh wait, I was right. I'll come back in three more years for my "sorry I was wrong".

Centuur -> RE: NetPlay (10/20/2016 6:08:27 PM)

In the last test session with netplay, we've almost got a whole turn played, without bugs. Just a couple of phases before we had reached a total turn, we ran into a fatal bug.

I estimate about two months, if nothing else pops up, before it can be put into a patch for the guys here to hammer on...

Dabrion -> RE: NetPlay (10/20/2016 6:17:09 PM)

I still want my money back !! Guess everyone agrees this was just a scam after all the years ..

What about sandbox or "netplay" with more than one person?
What about CE content? Is this still RAW7 on the classic level?

Hello Dabrion! Welcome back to the forum [:)]

fearlessdylan -> RE: NetPlay (12/15/2016 6:58:58 PM)

My two cents. One good approach, instead of a netplay option that requires all players be connected in order to do anything, and from what i understand coordination with rules, would be to do a vassal style approach, whereby each person's local copy streams clicks to any others connected and doesn't try to interpret any rules/moves, just clicks. that would allow us to do just as we can now with teamviewer except without the lag and poor graphics. syncronization (validation of state) should not be too difficult.

Dylan
