The current game does not support those two features. Supposedly years ago tank/vehicle sounds were there in testing but they were found to be annoying so they were removed. The engine sound should not be hard given for example how mortar shooting sound volume changes by how close your screen is to their location now in the game (though it should also depend on how close the nearest friendly unit is). It probably would have been better to lower the volume of the engine sound and implement it like mortars with a requirement that a friendly unit be within ## meters. Tank treads on the 2D maps would be tough to implement. There are very things in the game that change (actually sit on top) the map picture the game is played on; crushed hedges, darkness (night), fog, interior of buildings, rubble and shell holes. Most likely this will have to wait for the 3D version of CC (most 3D games with vehicles have them leaving tracks so it would be a missing feature if not don't compared to other games).
