We've just started a new The Next War campaign....I've been playing this game for almost 30 years now and it's always the best for me.

We plan to keep a blog with a detailed After Action Report, if you want to take a look here's the URL:

More power to you!

So many of the old games, board and computer, deserve a revisit.

Years ago I made a TOAW scenario for SPI's The Next War.

I remember it! But for me it's difficult to play these monster games on a PC, I lose the "overall sight".

What's the time frame of that map? Can you pm it to me please? Will it work on TOAW III?

shunwick -> RE: The Next War (SPI) AAR (3/19/2014 10:44:40 AM)

It is included with the TOAW III package. You will find it in the Modern - NATO Vs Warsaw Pact folder together with a the Tension variant.

The time frame for the original "The Next War" game is 1978-1980, more or less. I presume the TOAWIII module is based on the same period.

I also made a scenario for GDW's Third World War for Schwerpunkt's Anglo-German War PC game. Someday after Scwherpunkt's forthcoming WWII-Europe game gets released, I intend to update the TWW scenario for it. We just don't seem to have good operational WW-III games these days like the old SSI Norm Koger classic, Red Lightning. That would be worth an update. [&o]

While NATO is moving, I've added some direct experiences from the battlefield and an overall map of WP advance.
