Pretty much correct, the American strikes never made it to targets due to eating up fuel avoiding interceptors and being forced to RTB - that also had to do with a cluster blank when basically the whole wing of the CVA-58 United States triggered to launch at once in a gaggle causing a massive form up time issue. The American Phantoms and Demons got caught in turning dogfights and the Soviet turbo prop strikes got ripped to shreds by Talos. Only strike aircraft that made it were some Yak-25s with Rockets against a cruiser. Despite being unreliable the Scrubber did the most damage to the American BBs, but once rounds were expended and the American survivors got n range it was all she wrote for the Soviets. Its a pretty interesting scenario, a WW2 type battle in October 1962 with a melding of generations, once I sort out the American aircraft triggers I'll post it, it is playable from both sides.
