Alex170g -> Error ..manual speed override not working (1/20/2014 3:21:51 AM)

The game is great, but i have a problem that drives me mad.

When the status of an aircraft is any other than plotted course,(either returm to base, Engage Offensively, Engage Defensively) the manual speed override by pressing F2 doesnīt work, it automatically change speed to auto.

So, I canīt set afterburner speed to my attaking units if I want them to arrive earlier,
I can't change the predefined full speed OF RTB aircraft to afterburned when they are followed
by enemy airplanes. etc.

If I try to Unnasing from mision and then change speed, I also need to change their ROE, as
my aircrafts automatically change their status to RTB when low on fuel or Engage Defensively when attacked

When the aircraft only have a plotted course the manual speed override works perfect.

The Altitude change override works perfect always.

I'm using 486, but i have this problem since earlier versions.

Does anyone have this problem?

If you want the devs to be able to take a closer look I recommend attaching an autosave, that helps them trace the problem and see what's going on. Without an autosave they have to take a shot in the dark, which is extremely ineffective.

You're learning [:)]

here is the save.

A lone f-4 to north is returning to the carrier due to fuel (RTB ROE is set to yes)..he won't make to the carrier,
except if i can override to loiter speed via F2 key, but the AI automatically change his speed setting.

I thought the save was not neccesary, as it happends on all scenarios.

Thank you

Actually, the intended behavior is that planes on missions shall always follow the mission's speed and altitude parameters unless you've plotted a course for them. Only then will the AI do as told. When reaching the end of the plotted course, the mission parameters will kick in the the AI will adjust speed and altitude accordingly.

So what you need to do is to first assign planes to missions, and then use F3 hotkey to plot a course. This is also how it will work in the upcoming Advanced Strike Mission Editor.

If what you see in the sim is different from this, please post up and we'll investigate [8D]

Thanks!
