Is there no way for me to upload pictures myself? I am coming across some beauties! I actually like researching the navies that most other people would probably skip. I am currently looking at the ships of the Philippine Navy and came across this one. It's for the PF 15 - Gregorio del Pilar.

That is a really nice looking ship! [:D]

Well, one of the reasons why I'm not going to be accepting image uploads directly to the wiki is because that would 'fork' CV60's database image project. Plus, I'm using hosting provided very graciously by Blu3wolf and allowing people to directly upload to that hosting would be impolite and ungracious on my part.

However please, please upload images for the database image pack!! I'd highly recommend building an image pack like Barny does: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3535417 and then CV60 can take those images and thus you can add images to the database viewer, both the ingame one and the wiki based one!

The process for image updates to the wiki is as follows:
CV60 collects pictures from the Mods and Scenarios subforum among other places. Then he creates an image pack and uploads it to warfare sims. Warfare sims posts the image pack here: http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1876 I then download the image pack and do a little curating on it myself (large images are reduced, a 'mass renaming' occurs, and I delete images other than the first one) which I then upload to Blu3wolf's hosting.

I'm looking for additional image hosting, if anyone has a few gigabytes to spare [:)]. What I'm thinking of doing is 'load-balancing' as over about 3 weeks of activity the wiki has received 40k hits; I can have the wiki randomly select a site to fetch the database image from. Right now its 100% Blu3wolf, but if someone else volunteers some hosting it could be 50% Blu, 50% you. Thus this shares the load, and also minimizes downtime and increases the 'robustness' of the database viewer.

Plus, since I've added the CWDB to the database... I'm going to need some more space to put CWDB images up too!

Baloogan, you really should start a Paypal donation site or something.

You've poured so much effort into this out of sheer enthusiasm, but I'd love to be able to compensate you for your time (and ensure your continued devotion!).

Man, I wish I had more time to check all this out, but I know good work when I see it. Is your Db kinda like Wikipedia in that everyone can pitch in and flesh out the photos and descriptions?

I've never received payments via PayPal before, it was surprisingly easy to set up a donate button!

It should be showing up on the right hand side here: http://baloogancampaign.com/

Many, many thanks for anyone who donates! [:D]

Photos are being taken from CV60's (et all) image pack; descriptions are editable. I could add a system to have photos uploaded to the wiki; I haven't yet because my hosting package has a maximum of 1GB of storage, which I've seen as a challenge to fit my site into.

Descriptions are 100% editable! All the other pages, like this one Radar, A-D Band (30-2000 MHz) Javafiend made are also editable!

For example from the sensors on this zulu class's page: http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/DataSubmarine?ID=1000261

[image]http://i.imgur.com/GSN4T5U.png[/image]
You could click on either Description:Submarine 1000261 or Edit description to edit the description for this Zulu submarine. All those blue links are links to documentation, for example this page about the soviet union: http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/Soviet_Union_(-1991)

[image]http://i.imgur.com/nVv8oLi.png[/image]

Bold blue links like Snoop Pate (Flag) is a link to the sensor's database page

Blue links like Radar, ESM, Surface Search, Range Information, Speed information are links to wiki documentation pages. They could be edited by anyone [:)]

The red links, like "Hull Sonar, Active-Only" and "Acoustic Intercept (Active Sonar Warning)" are pages that anyone can edit, but they don't exist yet. All you have to do is click on them and you will be given a box to write up the page for them [:)]

There is also no need to create a wiki account before writing wiki articles; but its an easy way to keep track of the pages you edit as well as to credit yourself for writing the page!

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (2/12/2014 2:12:34 AM)

By popular demand, you are able to filter your view of the index by database.[:D]

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (3/12/2014 12:56:55 PM)

In preparation of Command 1.03 the Database viewer has been updated to version 409 of the databases. [:D]

There are quite a few new platforms!

dillonkbase -> RE: Online Database Viewer (3/12/2014 1:11:01 PM)

anyway you could make platforms searchable by sensor?

If I do add this feature I will need you to at least act as a beta tester for me for this feature. [:D]

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (3/12/2014 3:17:51 PM)

Its actually really complicated...
Will take quite a bit of time.

guanotwozero -> RE: Online Database Viewer (3/12/2014 5:35:38 PM)

New many-to-many via umpteen join tables? Coding for masochists!

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (4/20/2014 10:26:35 AM)

New Feature!

Nation Viewer

Classes broken down by nation and year!
For example here is the United Kingdom in 1983. [:D]
[image]http://i.imgur.com/qdQPpxQ.png[/image]

Please give it a try!

Jakob Wedman -> RE: Online Database Viewer (4/20/2014 6:36:06 PM)

Great Baloogan [:D]

However, the viewer doesn't seem to like å, å or ö:
Sweden 1985

Malakie -> RE: Online Database Viewer (4/20/2014 8:54:31 PM)

Any chance of an offline version? Many of us do not have the all the time internet option or fast bandwidth even today here in the good ole USA.

Additionally, I am often someplace where I do not have internet access and thus need to be able to use games and tools in offline modes...

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (4/21/2014 1:16:30 AM)

Well, the offline version is the one in Command [:'(]

Yeah, the wiki's database backend doesn't like non ANSI characters; due to the encoding. It used to just not import them [:D] now it just removes the offending character.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (5/19/2014 5:11:03 AM)

I've added a nation flag scroll to the front page of the wiki. http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/Main_Page

As well as a import visualizer http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/Import [:D]

I'd like to make an open call for any imports you guys might have made and I'll upload them (and use them too!).

PaulWRoberts -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/3/2014 9:47:52 PM)

Hi Baloogan!

I'm having trouble getting General Staff to work. I started it up, and it asked me for the database (DB3000 or not) and to identify the Command.exe folder, which I did. The General Staff windows are empty, however, and they don't update even after I've run a scenario for a while.

What have I done wrong?

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/3/2014 10:12:56 PM)

Ah, I've run into that myself; I think its due to General Staff not being updated in quite some time. I think it tries to figure out what side you are playing and then filters its results from there.

Could you upload your autosaves and I'll take a look next time I'm looking under the hood of general staff? Thanks [:D]

OK--Here are some autosaves. I ran this scenario for several minutes with General Staff running alongside, but the data never moved across.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/4/2014 1:03:17 AM)

Thanks, found the bug. Fun running across a bug entirely caused by my own laziness. [:D]

I'll have this patched in a few hours, I'll post when its fixed.

While I'm working on general staff is there any feature you would like to see?

PaulWRoberts -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/4/2014 1:14:29 AM)

Wow--I'm glad I could help. What a great response!

I haven't spent any time in General Staff yet, so I have no suggestions for improvement.

Thanks for your excellent work on this! I'm learning a lot from your videos as well.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/4/2014 1:34:56 AM)

Fixed, please let me know if it works! It should automaticly update. [:)]

PaulWRoberts -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/4/2014 3:35:29 PM)

It updated!

However, I still feel sure I'm doing something wrong:

1) When I start GenStaff just after starting a new scenario, it reads the data from the autosaves that already exist, and these are from a scenario I played yesterday. So, for example, I've begun playing "Downtown," but I'm seeing a ship list from a UK ASW exercise scenario. Is there any way to tell GenStaff to clear the data and start fresh?

2) Just now I closed GenStaff and (with my Vietnam scenario still running) started it up again. The database Lookup and Aircraft Group lists are empty even after a few minutes.

More autosaves attached.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/4/2014 9:39:04 PM)

Think I might have fixed it now. [:D]

edit: Thanks for the autosaves, I wouldn't have been able to fix it without them

PaulWRoberts -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/4/2014 10:15:51 PM)

It appears to be working for me now. Thank you for the great application!

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (6/7/2014 10:15:16 PM)

http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/ScenarioListing

I have an online listing of all the scenarios, complete with download links available http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/ScenarioListing here!

Plus in the chat room at https://jabbr.net/#/rooms/baloogan I have a bot which can search through the scenarios given a search string!
[image]http://i.imgur.com/QBs2Zir.png[/image]

Also available in the chat room is a platform search as well!
