Shemar -> Fighters on strike mission not defending themselves (1/27/2014 2:03:46 PM)

Disclaimer: This is what I could observe as a player, I have not looked at the scenario design.

In the scenario I am currently playing, the computer AI launched (what I assume to be) a strike mission against (I assume) my carrier. The strike mission included 5 Phantom IIs and 4 Mirage F1s. My 4 Harriers easily wiped them out using AMRAAMs and Sidewinders but what I noticed was that as far as I could tell none of the enemy fighters ever fired back. They attempted some basic evasion but other than that it was just 9 easy free kills.

Is that how strike missions are supposed to work?

A pre-event save...?

Yeah we need to see it to tell you exactly is going on.

In general though escorts will fire if a target meets the parameters to firing a weapon. If the opportunity fire ROE is set to on they will be more aggressive.

Sorry, I don't have a save* and I don't know how the mission was set up by the scenario designer. I was just wondering if, in general, AAW capable aircraft that are part of strike missions, will defend themselves when set as strike elements (not escorts).

*The game has been rock solid on my computer so I tend not to save a lot.
