When I give a unit direct support, what kind of bombardment occurs when a unit calls for fire support?
Neutralizing, harassment, or suppression? I've seen this occur but was unable to determine what kind of fire is used. Real nice feature especially in PBEM games.

Unfortunately direct support does not seem to function properly in this version and it is being worked upon.

However when it is working it would be useful, as you say, to know what type of fire it is. I also wonder what the duration of fire is.

That's to bad, I assigned to some forward units and it appeared to have worked. Maybe it's some kind of random code error when it doesn't work.

We may have solved the direct support issues with the spotting fixes in 2.03. I have not had a chance to fully test that aspect yet but I did see units drop arty in the vicinity of those supported units. We will give it more of a once over in 2.04/2.05 and I can see about adding more visible info from FSCC fires as to type and targets.

Quick question, about artillery, direct support. Still learning, if I give a, lets say a mortar plt, a direct support to a rifle plt hq element, everything in that plt will get direct support, is that correct, or is it just to the hq element and nothing else?

Right now it is based on the specific unit it is supporting.
