Can't build colony ships (Full Version)

I've researched Continental Colonization and have size 400 shipbuilding, but I still can't build a colony ship (or passenger ships). What am I missing?

To built a colony ship you need:

If you can't built it a resource shortage could be the reason...

(For passanger ships you need to research "transport systems")

I'm playing the pre-warp game (Shadows) and have a colonizable planet in my home system. I have all of that except the standard fuel cells and fission reactor. Looks like I'm going to need a bigger ship and some more research. You graphic says Mk3; what does a Mk1 look like? I don't even have a colony ship or passenger ship listed as buildable.

A system colony looks like the follow:

If the designs not available, create it by your self. Its the best way I think.


(A colony ship can built bigger than the normal ship size its allow. So you need not resaerch bigger ship size)

OK, got it now. The "Add New" button, of course. I'm still learning the game, and so far when new ships became available (cruiser, capital ship) they showed up automatically under buildable ships. Thank you very much!
