Not including bid points, which country wins most often?
If the Allies win, which country finishes the game with the most victory cities?

There was an analysis along those lines in the Millenium Annual. Have to dig it up.. but I remember that the Axis did ridiculously good in comparison to historical distribution.

Historical breakdown is like:
GE: 0, IT: 0, JP: 9
CH: 1, CW: 22, FR: 5, US: 15, SU: 15

In games where the Allies win, CW's prospect are still very good, but I have also seen and pulled SU landslides. SU landslide depends much on 1) options, 2) CLion attempts (and failures) and 3) WAlly convoy misery(BoA).

I have never played competitively (seems thats where it matters), but I think the bidding system is reasonable. It might favor the smaller Axis MP a little.

I do not think that such a old analysis is relevant. Rule changes since then have been in favour of the Allies.

In the 2008 annual it says that at the EuroWifCon there has been a slight predominance for the Allies since 2004.

It would be interesting to see a current analysis.

My analysis is not "old". The one in the Millenium Annual is obviously.

I do not want to argue with you about this. I thought it was obvious that I was referring to the numbers from the Millennium annual. Obviously I was not successful. My bad and I am sorry for that mistake.

I am sorry Dabrion that I was ambiguous in my answer. No slight was intended.

Well obviously have played only 20 or 30 games so not enough to be statistically correct, but....

We noticed in the 3rd edition that the games seemed even or slightly favoring the axis, 4th edition was fairly even, and 5th and final seemed to swing way over to the allies side.

Personally I blame the d10 and 2d10 system.. in the d6 system you could find fleets slightly easier, and tacs were just plain nasty for the axis at the start.. now it's like meh. and naval combat can be fairly infrequent.. to the point one game my us counterpart and I would say.. 'meet me in the coral sea' to attempt to at least have a naval battle before the game ended and no such luck ;-)
