Thank you.... Downloading now.

budd -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 7:52:26 PM)

i downloaded it but i'm waiting for confirmation before installing. The posted date is today but it refers to 104 and the description reads like the 104?

lecrop -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 7:53:38 PM)

Same here [8D]

Arkady -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 8:18:34 PM)

well this file shows version 2.00
ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/JohnTillerCampaignSeries/JohnTillerCampaignSeries-UpdateDR-v200.zip

what's strange -
- despite being windowed, it stills keep repainting my Windows scheme to khaki colours
- setting animation speed to fastest value possible is too slow anyway, I don't want teleportation but movement should be a lot of faster
- some sections of the EBOOK manual was not updated (especially explanation of menu functions)

budd -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 8:21:28 PM)

what version does it show on your game screen after install? My file says 2.00 also but the description mentions 104 and the wording describes 104 from what i remember.

Arkady -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 8:25:05 PM)

game screen ?

"About Dialog" shows version 2.00

thank you

Jason Petho -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 9:02:58 PM)

I have updated the manual, but there wasn't enough time for Matrix to compile it, so we will be including it in the 2.01 UPDATE. In the meantime I will post the major manual changes in a post.

Otto von Blotto -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 9:05:53 PM)

downloaded and installed thanks it will take some time to get used to interface changes after such a long time.

I can echo Arkady in that it is repainting some of my Windows scheme to khaki colours. it used to do it only when it crashed now it does it when I exit the program normally.

Hmm, it's not supposed to do that, on normal game exit my system window colors are restored. Are you using Windows 8* perhaps?

And on my Windows 7 system, 1.04 and before behaved just the opposite -- on game exit, left in place the game colors, crash or no.

Strange!

Answered elsewhere.

quote:

Before, the choices were binary: fast or slow, nothing in between. We have given you a wide range of "in between". The graphics routines were not optimized, so yes, the fastest speed is no faster than before.

- some sections of the EBOOK manual was not updated (especially explanation of menu functions)

So as not to delay release another month, updating the in-game Manual failed to make the cut. We will be posting doc updates here at the forum as appropriate.

Suul -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 9:57:17 PM)

I only just found this game last weekend when I searched "Panzerblitz computer" game.

And a great update already!

Thanks,
John

Yes.

Matrix/Slitherine will make an official announcement in the morning.

scottintacoma -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 11:45:25 PM)

Jason, Berto, and the whole team, thanks. As someone said it will take some time to get used to some of the changes. The new 2d icons are different, and that will take some time to get used to as well.

I like the new sound effects!

Scott in Tacoma

scottintacoma -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/19/2014 11:46:47 PM)

I do not have a problem with the colors changing when I exit. It all goes back to normal.

Warhorse -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/20/2014 12:12:52 AM)

This was my baby, also a work in progress, as it has not been touched in 15 years! For the first time, when in extreme 2D zoom, you should also have corresponding icons instead of blank counters, when using the military symbols. I've added very many new symbols, when this is complete, I will also have a map, as it were of all the icons. We simply ran out of time, WF is not finished, and need to do EF/RS yet, but am very excited about the 2D aspect now!! Most units will have a distinct 2d picture, as opposed to the Military Symbol, instead of 50+ units using the same, or just plain wrong one!

budd -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/20/2014 12:36:55 AM)

thx so much guys for all your work. I notice boonie rats market garden scenarios have been added....nice.

PzKw43 -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/20/2014 1:10:23 AM)

I take it I need to have Campaign Series installed before installing version 2.00?

budd -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/20/2014 1:24:52 AM)

I can confirm the colors restore to normal after game exit on my W8.1 64bit system...

lecrop -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/20/2014 1:53:33 PM)

Thank You Thread, then...

THANKS FOR AN AMAZING UPDATE.

This is not an upgrade, is a full-blown resurrection of one of the best and most complete pc wargames. Thank you again [&o]

z1812 -> RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread (2/20/2014 3:24:01 PM)

After all these years the game is still supported and patched.

In my view it stands up very well against what is available "today".

Nice maps, wonderful unit graphics, scenario generator, I could go on and on, and the music..........

Thanks to all involved, and thanks to Jason for keeping it alive.

+1

When I think of the many years that Jason (also Mike et al) have stood by this game, I am in awe of his (their) dedication.

Matrix Team:[8D]

A hearty and sincere "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" from a "middle-aged" gamer who first cut his teeth on East Front II way back in 1998! [X(]

[&o] Your Team has breathed new life into an ageless and classic game system... and I am grateful for all the dedication, and hard work that has made the JTCS 2.0 patch possible!

Looking forward to enjoying many hours with the "new gal"! [;)]

Very odd. I have just tried accessing the unit handbook every conceivable way

  • unit selected, no unit selected
  • toolbar icon, Help menu selection, F2 key
  • separate Windows XP, 7 & 8.1 installs (on three different systems)

and no freezes, no problems, everything WAD.

Before attempting to access the unit info panel, have you selected a unit first?

In your update, did you (recommended) start afresh with a new, pristine clean v1.00 install (from original medium), then run the 2.00 update install?
