radioactiveman -> Frieghter AI Bug (2/20/2014 12:46:43 AM)

Number of years into a Large/Large shadows game.

Noticed I was getting higher and higher 'unfulfilled' resources. I found the cause.

One of my planets, not even a super nice one, had over 1300 freighters in line to dock at it. Its docks were not locked with anything. Ships were coming and going, just is seemed everyone wanted to go there. They were also ignoring the spaceport and all docking directly to the planet. The planet does not have any of the 'luxury' resources.

I Scrapped all the freighters in the system, and sure enuf a couple years later, the numbers started to grow into the hundreds again.

Not sure what sequence of events caused this. The only odd thing I saw was in the planets cargo bays were some goods reserved for another empire, but the icon was a white box with a red X. I figured those and been for an empire that had been eliminated.

But the scenario basically crippled my resource distribution for that game. -sad face-

I have a copy of the save game if you guys want.

FYI, a way to scrap or give a colony that is not disputed would be awesome. If such a method already exists, it is not evident. Or even turn a world destroyer on your own planet, sure huge negative Rep and empire happiness, but still, sometimes you need to.

I am sure uploading that save could be useful. There is as sticky here that explains where to upload.

Maybe you can delete the world in the editor?

CyclopsSlayer -> RE: Frieghter AI Bug (2/20/2014 1:10:09 PM)

While mostly fixed in one of the patches, occasionally I find that every ship in my empire are all queued to refuel or retrofit at some out of the way single base. A single Gas Mine left to be sole supply for several hundred Freighters, Warships and explorers.

If your empire is really out of fuel, I guess queuing at the single as mine sort of makes sense. I doubt they will ever recover, though, since each ship will get single digits fuel each (from testing...).

If you are not all out of fuel, they should spread around to nearby gas mines and colonies, and not all gang up on a single one.

The empire was not out of fuel, and the freighters there were not all trying to refuel. They were dropping and picking a vareity of resources
