They said if they threw all testing out the window they could (in a perfect world) put a shuttle up in a week to 10 days...it would go up with a crew of 2 since it can only carry 9 people. By chance I've been off since the accident, but starting tomorrow I work the next 5 days. The fleet's grounded and the contractors aren't needed...many of the people I'll be talking to saw their fate the second the special reports broke in last Saturday. They really are a tight-knit family, so besides the gut-punch of losing people they've worked closely with for months/years, they also lose the means to support the families they have at home. Its ironic that I named this thread 'bad day', because tomorrow... :(
