keeferon01 -> [FIXED B506] Freeze on V1.03 Final (3/22/2014 7:51:37 PM)

Hello All
Have to say many thanks first for this fantastic sim , really loving it :)
I am getting this freeze of game just as my B52 strike is getting ready to fire long range missiles , the ms goes from about 35 up to 15000 then freeze not responding . I have uploaded my save game .

Aha! So that's what's happening....

I'm seeing the same thing (V 1.03, Closing the Kurile Gap) too.

I have a group of B-52s with CALCMs heading N off the SE coast of Japan, closing on a target in the Kuriles. As they approach their weapons status changes from 'out of weapon range' to 'out of DLZ'. When that happens the pulse times shoot way up to the 15,000 to 20,000 range. The game still functions, but is essentially unplayable due to the time delay.

If you delete the B-52s, or use the editor to move them backwards so they're all out of range again or forwards so they're all in range then the game returns to normal pulse times.

Thanks for the reports guys. Seeing it here too with your test scenario and added it to our list of things to address.

I am noticing the same problem with Soviet Bombers when they come into firing range , the MS shoots right up, making the game unplayable . Are there any ideas as to why this is happening ?

It's the DLZ calculations. They provide very accurate kinematic envelopes but they are very CPU-intensive.

We'll see if we can trim them down.

Resolved in Build 506.
