AC -> Lost Victories finished! (2/5/2003 7:33:34 PM)

After one and a half year's gaming yesterday I finished Lost Victories. I totalized 218 points - moderate campaign victory. I fought 54 battles, with 30 decisicve and 10 moderate victories, and 14 draws. I got all awards, but not the Crimea Shield: maybe I performed too poorly there. Vebber was wounded two times, and always by enemy aircraft (I lost at least 20 points); and in one of the last battles also Wirth went WIA/KIA.
Tme unit with the most kills was an infantry squad with 133 kills and 124 experience; remarkable also a 5cm Pak with 80 kills. The Stug's didn't go very far, as they suffered looses very often.
I enclose a spreadsheet with the detailed campaign process battle by battle.

Impressive. Most Impressive.

If I were to redefine the term "Matrix Hero", I'd say we have one in AC (and in everyone else that has a finished MC on his belt :D)

Well, LV was indeed worth its purchase. I followed the discussion on this board about the final patch and that Matrix was not giving enough support and so on ... I for myself must say that I enjoyed the MC in every battle, and that it doesn't matter much to me if there's some T34s that should be T26 or the storyline doesn't hold if Vebber or Wirth or whoever are going to die ... IMHO it has been a succesful experiment with large possibilities to improve, and I want to thank everyone here who has put time and effort in it.

On the other hand I understand also the point of those that are asking for a full working software for their money or at least some information on when it will work; but after all I think I've got much more for my bucks with this game alone than with all other games together I ever have bought.

Just another thing I forgot to mention in the post: except for one or two crashes to desktop that forced me to start from a backup save, I didn't repeat any of the scenarios. So what came out is "the real thing" (just like I were there;). I think that the MCs were meant to be played like this, and it adds a lot of fun (and tension) to the whole thing.

Very well done! How did the fight on the Donets go?

The Donetz Battles went quite good, after all. But first of all they gave a good idea of the struggle of the overextended and burnt out Germans that had to face the Soviet steamroller. It was always a "try to hold on until mobile reserves will relief you" (if there were some, of course). Very well designed, I must say.

Good to hear that you survived the Village battles along the Donets :D
