Vici Supreme -> Update issue (3/25/2014 2:52:14 PM)

Hey there! [8D]
I've got a problem to update my copy to Version 1.03. Since now, I never had any issues doing so but this time I don't know what's wrong... Downloaded the patch and updated it. But my version is still the same. Then tried to run the auto-updater in the start-up menu and he successful run through the process, twice. When I get back into Command again to check (for the new platforms) it's still Build 498, the version I am currently using. I even restarted my Computer in case this matters. I really want to get my hands on the "new" Command, please help. [:D]

Greetings

Please make sure you're not running a copy of command while updating.

If you installed Command to a location other than the default make sure you are specifying that directory during the update.

Hello, I have similar problem:
My updater refuses to start with C++ runtime error. Abnormal program termination.

All other games are running ok, and i haven't added or removed any C++ libs lately, also i haven't touched my installation for few weeks, so im quite sure i didnt changed anything from last , 1.03, update in game as well.
Yet it refuses to run & check for updates.

Game runs fine, but updater crashes as soon as it starts.

Any solution for this would be much appreciated.

Dimitris -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 3:37:39 PM)

This is indeed strange.

Do you mean that v1.03 was successfully installed, and the game itself runs OK, but the autorun updater hangs?

bigbadvuk -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 3:40:29 PM)

Exactly.

Game was updated long time ago, run for a while perfectly , and then suddenly after some pause of few weeks game continued to work , but updater is showing C++ runtime error.

Any ideas why i cant start it?

Dimitris -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 3:41:57 PM)

What is your game version (as displayed on the main window's top bar) ?

bigbadvuk -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 3:47:28 PM)

1.03 Final (Build 504)

Vici Supreme -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 7:11:17 PM)

Ok, this all didn't really helped. I'm aware that Command must not run while updating. I still doesn't get my game patched to Version 1.03 (Build 504?). Meanwhile I got to V 1.03 Release Candidate 5 with the patch from Baloogan's page.
But now, the problem that Bigbadvuk stated has begun to appear when trying to run the Auto-updater. Game itself runs fine. Despite of modifying my DB Images from time to time, I didn't changed anything in the Command directory. I would really appreciate some help to finally update my game to the final version. [:)]

Greetings

bigbadvuk -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 7:23:09 PM)

Oh yes, that is the one im having as well [sm=00000436.gif]
I was starting to think , that it was my system or , god forbid, hardware.... [:D]

But now that you have it as well, after last update - it means we will have to wait for Matrix Games to sort it out. Ty!

thewood1 -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 7:46:36 PM)

I had that issue for a while. I always patched from the stand alone file and started the game from command.exe in the command folder. Recently the issue went away when I got a new PC.

You can update manually by downloading and running the v1.03 instaler from here: http://bit.ly/1iKuzmX

cuthbo2001 -> RE: Update issue (3/27/2014 9:52:52 PM)

Same error message here. 1.03 build 504. Error occurs when trying to auto update

Ah, well, we dont need the auto updater ( technically speaking ) until next final build is released.
Also, yes, we can use manual update when new version is out, but...

But it would be cool if Matrix can fix this problem, it is annoying.

Vici Supreme -> RE: Update issue (3/29/2014 3:58:37 PM)

I already tried manually updating Command with the downloadable updater, earlier this week but gave it another shot today. But anyways, still the old story. Installer first says that I am already up to date but runs through installation successfully. Everything works fine until I get into Command again where everything is still at my current Build version (Build 501). [&:]
The updater does not recognize differences between realease candidates and final versions, otherwise I can't explain this to me.

mikmykWS -> RE: Update issue (3/29/2014 4:32:23 PM)

Hi guys,

I'm seeing this with Flashpoint too. I've contact Matrix about the runtime errors.

Thanks!

Mike

Can you try running command from your command directory (click the command.exe file) and let us know if the result is the same.

Thanks!

Mike

Vici Supreme -> RE: Update issue (3/29/2014 5:05:38 PM)

Ok, launched from Command directory but still Build 501.

Greetings

mikmykWS -> RE: Update issue (3/29/2014 5:21:53 PM)

What directory is you command installed to? Are you pointing to that directory with the installer?

{Sorry if these questions are a little annoying)

Mike

Vici Supreme -> RE: Update issue (3/29/2014 6:15:25 PM)

It is installed to C/Programs(x86).
First not but then I did. But no difference.
No problem, I don't mind if this helps to solve the issue! [:)]

bogaty -> RE: Update issue (7/9/2014 11:48:05 PM)

Still having this issue. I manually downloaded and installed 1.04 but still get the runtime error with the auto-update from menu feature.

bogaty -> RE: Update issue (7/20/2014 7:13:08 AM)

bump

mikkey -> RE: Update issue (7/20/2014 9:00:57 PM)

Hi bogaty, if you have problem with autoupdater, you can try this Updater fix.Maybe this will help.
If not, download 1.04 update directly from Matrix FTP, unpack it and install manually.

ComDev -> RE: Update issue (7/21/2014 7:13:51 PM)

Did Mikkey's suggestions solve the problem?
