Hi Guys - I have moved to Windows 8.1 and while the game seems to run fine I can't see ANY units in it - the side I'm playing or anyone elses!

Anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix available?

when you say move? do you mean a fresh install of both game and operating system as there's no upgrade path to win 8 apart from data etc, so a fresh install and now you can see any units, i run same game on windows 8.1 64bit with no errors, so could be a driver issue maybe, a DxDiag log may help, plus vga driver type and number used

I mean I got a new computer with Windows 8.1, 64 bit, on it, installed the game and it works fine other than the fact I cannot see any of the units.

are you running it as admin, in normal mode, or compatibility mode etc

what video drivers are you running, make and mode plus driver version?

Just tried it in Admin and compatibility mode, no difference. My Acer Aspire V5 has intel graphics. You can click on the units and they are there and ready to move, etc. I just can't see them. Everything else works perfectly. Very odd.

try reduce colour mode in compat settings box, if that doesn't work try disable display scaling dpi setting in same box, still run game in windows 8.1 mode mind you, just tick either or both of the boxes mentioned and give that a try, did you install both dx plus net framework also etc?

Hi,

Sorry if this is a dumb answer but I also have W8.1 and didn't see any units but when you (or for me at least) press SPACE they appear. Saw a similat thread on the Steam community page.

Bazzar, been playing no worries. Changed in game screen res and units disappear went back to old settings and now cant get untis back
