OK. Maybe I am just terrible and maybe I am missing something, but I am having a really hard time getting "Kalach Crossing." Any hints?

You might try drawing fire with a sacrificial unit here and there. And use smoke. If you are running out of turns the lowest level adds turns. I had to do that once in a while.

Pabadger... why, exactly, are you losing?

Thanks. I'll take a look at the video. BTW I won the scenario last night shortly after posting this. I was finally able to get my guys in position to rush the bridge at the same time as the Soviets across the bridge were shaken.

I think I wasn't paying enough attention to keeping my guys in good terrain. My squads were getting shaken in the open and then missing rally rolls. Also I was having trouble at the start spotting and firing on the enemy without exposing my troops to opportunity fire.

I was frequently able to clear the side of the river the Germans start on but then had major problems getting across the bridge.

As I've said elsewhere, think of Spotting as a last resort. Attempt to draw fire with Squads--not by moving them in the open, but rather through covered terrain. Look at ways to move single squads adjacent to units you want to attack. Much has been made of the Spotting rule. Honestly, I believe it is not only realistic, but fun. Not wasting turns with mutliple spotting attempts is important.
