Are referring to the 'Community Pack' workshop item?

cns180784 -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/20/2017 1:38:58 PM)

No i downloaded the latest pack just released from here: http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1876

michaelm75au -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/20/2017 1:40:35 PM)

Yea, I just checked my Steam folders and they are missing there too. As expected as they contain the extracted CP36 zip

Have you tried loading the two new scenarios? i get that message about a non existent DB folder when trying to load them, as well as most other scenarios but some are working.

michaelm75au -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/20/2017 1:53:48 PM)

The 'Red Phoenix' loads fine - it is using DB3000 v466. As does 'Team Carney'

You need 1.12 installed to get that DB version from memory.

Ok thanks that explains it, thats the RC you mean though not the final version?

mavfin -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/20/2017 3:46:41 PM)

Yeah, no final version yet, but the B936.4 RC pack has the DB3000 466 DB.

There are a number of scenarios in the latest pack (just released) that have scen files missing. Scenarios such as Annaba Constant 1960, ASW Exercise 2006, scenarios at the top of the list. I've counted 29. This isnt a problem for me as i just restored the scen files that i previously deleted from my recycle bin- only it will be a problem obviously for those who havent downloaded the community scenario pack before so they wont have those scen files to restore.

I have restored the missing SCEN files from Pack 34 into the Steam Workshop item 'Community Pack'. (Did not want to use pack 35 due to the potential load error on some of them.)

mavfin -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/21/2017 1:17:02 AM)

The newest Steam version of the Community pack is much more complete than the one off the Warfaresims site. The one off the Warfaresims site is missing a bunch of .scen files. Several things just have .ini files, no .scen. Just so you know.

Tailhook -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/25/2017 11:20:53 PM)

Tried using both steam and the warfaresims download link. I'm able to play the two scenarios from pack 36 (Carney and Red Phoenix) but am unable to get anything from Pack 35, including all of the new Northern Fury, Operation Tilest, etc.

michaelm75au -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/26/2017 10:39:07 AM)

Several of the Pack 35 scenarios have conversion errors; better to use the Pack 36 which should have the updated pack 35 ones.

mavfin -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/26/2017 5:15:21 PM)

michealm, did you catch that the Facing the Dragon Scenario doesn't work in the Community Packs? The DB 429 single version on Steam, however, works fine. Just needs someone to update the MKK2 a/c from a newer DB into the scenario.

Still no luck, missing Operation Tilest, Strike Commander, Northern Fury 13.2, etc...

HalfLifeExpert -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/27/2017 3:15:46 AM)

I get that some of the scenarios use the new DB from 1.12, which i dont have the beta for, but some scenarios are missing, such as one of my favorites: Battle of the First Salvo 1989. And every scenario from the CSP i have tried to load gives me the error about loading a DB that doesnt exist. The standalone scenarios and ones from NI and live seem to work.

Im gonna wait for final 1.12, but the missing scenarios should be recovered.

Also what is the deal with the multiple Scenario List config files?

They are used in the batch conversion process. Don't think that they should have been included.

HalfLifeExpert -> RE: New scenario pack releases (4/27/2017 6:12:00 PM)

That kind of tells me that something went wrong when the pack was updated. I've still got the previous version on my desktop, the new one is on my laptop, so I hope a fixed version comes relatively soon.

PaulWRoberts -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/5/2017 9:15:45 PM)

Is the latest scenario pack still thought to be missing important files?

mikmykWS -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/5/2017 11:49:35 PM)

Think that was all straightened out. You will have to download the latest beta though to get a match db.

Mike

rjantzi -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/6/2017 4:20:33 AM)

From what I can see the version on Warfaresims.com (Pack 36) is still missing some of the .scen files and has multiple Community Scenario List .ini files included. From what I've read I think the version on Steam was updated but I'm not sure.

PaulWRoberts -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/7/2017 3:29:51 PM)

Yes, there does seem to be something funny about the files in the Warfaresims.com version.

mavfin -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/7/2017 6:22:31 PM)

Yeah, unless it's been fixed since it was first posted, the warfaresims pack 36 is missing several .scen files. The Steam Workshop pack 36 has the .scen files included, but still has the extraneous DB update files at the top, same as the warfaresims version.

And Facing the Dragon (scenario) doesn't work from the community scenario packs on steam, but that's not the fault of the community pack, really. If you want Facing the Dragon, download the single version on steam, and don't update the scenario to current DB.

Wait. Is this something we're supposed to do?

Do we manually update old scenarios when a new DB is released? How is this done?

mavfin -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/8/2017 12:48:23 AM)

Look at page 79 of the manual to start. That will give you the story about updating/checking scenario DB version, etc.

PaulWRoberts -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/8/2017 12:52:56 AM)

Thanks! I'm sure I read that years ago, but I somehow never internalized it.

HalfLifeExpert -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/9/2017 8:50:06 PM)

I get that the DB issues are from the CSP being updated to the 1.12 DB, but that doesnt explain the issue of the missing scenarios, which are apparently in the Steam Workshop version.

I hope that the WarfareSims site version is fixed roughly about the same time as Chains of War releases next week

Stardog765 -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/23/2017 1:58:59 AM)

Any fix for some of the community scenarios loading errors?

Facing the Dragon is the one I have been testing but it will not load without errors about missing aircraft from the DB. I have tried the download from Warfaresims and Steam Workshop for the latest community pack.

What got broken here? I do have the Chains of War DLC.

mavfin -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/23/2017 2:13:04 AM)

If you want to play Facing the Dragon, get the single scenario version on Steam (DB3000 429) and it will load. Don't update it, unless you want to fix the issues with the Su-35MKK some DB versions later. None of the Community pack 32 or higher versions of FAcing the Dragon will load.

Basically, an a/c type changed its ID# for whatever reason somewhere between 429 and 466.

I mean, load the 429 version, and look at the errors. They're fixable. I just haven't taken the time to do so. (No, I'm not the owner!)

Stardog765 -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/23/2017 2:17:03 AM)

Oh ok, well I was not looking to play that particular scenario but I seen that there was a problem with it loading so I was using it just to test to see if I had a DB problem.

So it looks like whatever broke just effects some of the community pack scenarios not any of the games stock scenarios? It also looks like there are missing scenarios from the community pack now so I guess just have to wait for an updated community pack for this to be resolved.

thanks for the information Mavfin, I appreciate it. This is going to be a pain for some one to sort out.

mavfin -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/23/2017 3:12:39 AM)

For whatever reason the warfaresims site version of the community pack is missing some .scen files.

The Steam Workshop version of the Community Pack or Community Pack 36 is not missing them, even though it's more or less the same files. The batch files for rebuilding the scenarios were left in it as well in both versions, but you can ignore those.

As far as I know the Tutorial, Standalone, Northern Inferno, Chains of War, and LIVE! Scenarios (if you have any or all of those pieces) all work fine with the B936.13 1.12 version of Command. Of course the Chains of War scenarios don't load if you haven't bought the DLC.

There's just some issues with a few of the Steam Workshop and/or warfaresims site Community Pack stuff. And, if you consider just how many scenarios are in that pack, a couple of non-working ones don't look so bad.

Stardog765 -> RE: New scenario pack releases (5/23/2017 3:14:37 AM)

Ya no its not the end of the world I just wanted to make sure if it was just community stuff. Things happen for sure.

Thanks, I appreciate the information.
