usgrandprix -> problem with 1.09 scenario folders (4/10/2014 8:07:26 PM)

I have a few custom scenarios and I'm using 1.09 to keep them in their own folders.

I understand you have to modify the modules.dat and it reads from the last one and then Stalingrad.

So I'm keeping my ID numbers unique so I would not have to touch modules.dat.

However, since you cannot give the nations a unique ID, the game reads the nations from my last entry in modules.dat.

So I get odd nation names and cannot change this except by changing the order in modules.dat.

I'm assuming the "nation" qualities (motherland, ss rally, mixed stacks) are also granted, which is a problem.

I can always change modules.dat of course.

Maybe you could make it so when you create a scenario in the editor it reads from only a given folder and then after that only reads from Stalingrad?

Also, calling it nations is a bit confusing. It's more like organizations (Wehrmacht being a separate "nation" from SS).

Just thought I'd give you guys some feedback. Great game!

yea...i saw that coming.

easier just to have two custom nations...and let the heros get drawn from wherever.

I say we thermonuke the civilians...so we have three custom nations.

nuuuuke the civilians (its only 3 freakin counters anyway)

did you try putting your folder directly below the stalingrad folder in the dat file?

I'm not messing with any of it...till you guys figure it all out.

Yes I have them at the end of the dat list after Stalingrad and there's no problem with doing that. Everything works fine except the nations.

Three solutions I can think of are:

1. In the editor force a scenario to read from only one folder and then only check Stalingrad after that.
2. Ability to make more nation IDs
3. Just change the order in the dat file every time you play a custom

And yes I have my eye on those poor civilians too!
