IvanGrozni -> Screen Resolution (4/22/2014 9:34:58 AM)

I have a 1366*768 laptop resolution.

When I enter the game I can't 'reach' the lower part of the game. I've been to preferences but I can't see no options to change the resolution to my native (maybe the option is in the bottom of the screen ?).

Any advices ?

Game code does not change screen resolution, AFAIK. I change it myself for my laptop... think you need higher resolution to fit all on the screen, but others who know may give correct answer.

It's not at all obvious, but WitE actually runs in a Window. So you should be able to resize the window and the game automatically scales. I learned this the hard way because I spent quite a bit of time myself trying to change resolution - but there is no need to. Unlike other 2x3 games, there are no fixed resolutions in this one.

The problem is - I can't shrink it enough vertically.
Horizontaly is ok I can shrink or enlarge the window. But when i resize it vertically the window just moves down. As if I am using the 'hand' tool to move it down.

I think the minimum internal size of the game window is 1024x768, therefore it becomes playable only on 1280x800 or 1440x900 screens and above. You could hide the taskbar and try to move the top window bar outside the visible area, but some pixels would still be cut off. You could also try selecting a graphics style with more narrow window borders (like classic Windows rather than XP style) and making window title font smaller.

Is there anyone else with a 1366*768 resolution laptop ?
I never thought it would be a problem.

Do you have the same problem, how did you fix it ?

morvael -> RE: Screen Resolution (4/25/2014 1:00:29 PM)

No, I don't have this problem. I have a higher resolution on my laptop and monitor. I was aware of WitE's requirements beforehand so I discarded 1366*768 laptops from the start.

I originally tested WitE ALPHA/BETA years ago on old IBM ThinkPad laptops from 2005 (they have 1024x768 resolution). The WitE worked OK but that was on WinXP...

Yes Ivan I have the same issue. What I do is drag the taskbar to the side of the screen before playing. Once the game loads I double click on the games title bar and the fonts rescale or something.
FWIW WITW has the option to play full screen and has no issues with 1366x768.

There isn't anything here about required screen size.
So I wonder, how did you learn the 1366*768 resolution was problematic ?

IvanGrozni -> RE: Screen Resolution (4/27/2014 5:38:03 PM)

@Blood knight

Thanx for trying to help.

However I still can't get the game to be fully on the screen, whenever I go in the menu, I get a lower part of the screen 'unreachable'.

Is there a way to directly upload a screenshoot to this forum?
