i have a problem. I don´t play computer games very often but i do from time to time. And in the years i feel that i´m not so smart any more that i used to be. I can´t get through the games by myself. I have had this problem all the time lately and now I started to play Chrono trigger for old times sake and i get stuck all the time - its so difficult. At first i was sure i can do it myself but i got so annoyed at last so i started to use a walktrhough. i do think i have become stupider in times, ´cause i don´t recall that i was so much stuck when i fist played it. Do you sometimes have same kind of problems? Tell me please that i´m not the only here.... Or is it really that alcohol is killing my braincells already..?

Micky, Too much alcohol will basically start to shut down everything, you can limit this stupidity. [;)] When I play a computer game I take notes, that way when I come back to that game (for however long) it will refresh my memory and I'll be up to speed in no time, invest in some spiral notebooks...with this genius has no limit! I think game designers expect that you will gradually increase in skills, so gradually increase the difficulty level. Then coming back after a long gap I get worse as a player, just as the game gets harder.

Well, I know in RTW I can go back to it at any time and do very well, but Rome 2 is a pain to remember and understand all those icons this time around. I don't like the UI at all. I like the way it has been presented up to Rome 2 but not Rome 2 at all. Plus, age is a factor and all those rules and manual in my head now. I don't even feel like learning a new game. I recently got Pandora and it's still stitting in limbo. I played a couple of turns and didn't really like it or get into it because it too is not very intuitive to me. Norbsoft makes the kind of games I enjoy now. Easy to get into hard to master.

Patrick Well, yes when Norb was with Mad Minute I played his engine over there with 1st Manassas and 2nd Manassas. All his work is great wherever he is.

Used to play FPS such as Counterstrike when it came out back in the day. Used to play it a lot. But after a while you do notice you're not getting any better ... [:D] Reaction time is slower, brain functions somewhat different, etc etc. So yeah you/we/me are getting older. Oh and alcohol, too much alcohol ... is pretty much always bad. Not saying 1-2 glasses of wine hurt you.

Yeah. Alcohol is especially bad while playing real time strategy games. You can wake up in the middle of the night in front of your computer with a "Decisive Defeat" window on your screen. [:D] I hate relearning a game after I haven't played it for a few years. My memory and attention span are not so good anymore. If I used to play the game a lot, though, it usually comes back to me reasonably quickly.

I hate learning so many rules all over again or just new ones. When you have literally 100's of games those rules start cluttering up your brain. Then drinking alcohol on top of that. Phew....I don't last 5 minutes usually if I drink anymore.

Patrick Wow, I thought I was the oldest. Amazing. But, I too do have lots of yellow pad notes from various games but no organized order as I should. Most are for simulations and some strategy games like Crusader Kings that I can't remember what all the traits do.
