GreyJoy -> DBB-Extended map: a modest suggestion (5/7/2014 8:03:12 AM)

In my game against Obvert I just discovered the hard way that from Diamond Harbour to Calcutta there's a river crossing.
Basically Calcutta is a river island in the phwex file.
However the extended map shows a land bridge between DH and Calcutta.
NY59Giants has posted this screenshot in my AAR, that shows that the Map is correct (there is no river between DH and Calcutta in RL), so possibly it is the pwhex file which is not correct.
Symon: do you think that there's a mistake in the extended map version or it is WAD?

Thanks in advance for your attention

It's the same on all the maps, Stock and Extended. Don't know if it was intentional on Andrew Brown's part, but I believe it was a mistake or oversight that was done on the original and just carried over to the Extended. Looking at all the 1940 stuff, it is, for sure, a straight shot from Diamond Harbor to Calcutta, and on a darn good road, too. And in 1940, 90% of Calcutta was on the East side of the Hooghly.

There's a couple other anomalies with those two hexes, as well. Can fix them for you. Will post a bit more in your AAR so everybody knows whats going on.

John
