larryfulkerson -> FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 4:22:47 PM)

Here's the zoomed out view of the first turn Axis moves. This is from the END_TURN file so everybody has moved as far as they are
going to this turn. I'll post some close-up's too.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 4:44:26 PM)

This is the north part of the front lines and is the view John Fogger has of the Axis units. The Soviet units that are in John's path from
here to Riga aren't visible yet, but they are there.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 4:52:40 PM)

Here's the next section of the front lines going south. John is making progress rapidly. The push is on.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 5:10:16 PM)

Here's the next section looking south and this shows a giant pocket that John seems to be forming. If Soren can't move all that Soviet
stuff out of this impending pocket it's bound to get destroyed. And John is moving fast.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 5:14:23 PM)

Here's the next section of the front lines and you can see that John has Panzer recon units entering the Marshes already. And it's only
turn one. Maybe Soren has some road blocks set up to thwart his movements.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 5:21:46 PM)

Here's the next section looking south, the bottom of the Marshes. The Stalin Line will be in this area eventually. Maybe a bit more SE.
If I remember correctly the Romanians are in garrison mode still and can't be moved so Soren might have enough time to set up a
rudimentary front line along the river(s) looking toward the west and Soren won't have to fall back quite so quickly. And might save some
units in the defensive lines. The Soviet air force isn't worth the rubles paid for it. Not yet. They need to rest for a few turns to get the
readiness out of the teens and up into the 40's or more. I usually rest them until they are in the 60%+ range but then I'm not in much of
a hurry for some of my force elements. If I had the END_TURN file for the Soviet side I could show you what units Soren was going to
get next turn.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 5:24:34 PM)

This is the southmost section of the front lines and it's rather borinig so I've superimposed the Air Briefing over it and as you can see,
John has been doing some airfield strikes. That's a whopper of a score. If I had the END_TURN file for the Soviet side I could show
you what the Soviets claim as losses and kills. Hint, hint.

Cfant -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/9/2014 6:52:40 PM)

As far as I know, if you open the enemy plane losses often enough, you get 3 numbers. The middle one is the one of the true losses of the enemy. At least I heard so :)

Would be cool if 6500 it was. Never seen that before [&o]

That is my understanding as well. I was just too lazy to perform it.

EDIT: And I would perform it NOW and post the results but I'm doing my moves for my WITP-AE game ( I'm Allies ) and I don't want to
lose my train of thought. I'll come back later and EDIT this post to show the numbers.

EDIT: It was easier to just post the numbers in a new post instead.

Josh -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/10/2014 2:49:35 PM)

Thx for posting Larry.
More than 6.500! That's illegal. [X(]

Petey -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/10/2014 9:46:00 PM)

Say who is playing whom in this game?

Looks like Larry is doing the AAR

fogger -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/11/2014 2:31:54 AM)

Soren Gaun (one of the designers of FITE2) is playing the Russians and I am playing the Germans. This is a test game to find any bugs before it is released. Larry and I found a number in our limited game. Soren has spend about 10 years working on this game. Both Soren and myself are currently pressed for time so Larry has kindly agreed to be my editor. I am sending Larry my EOT file and some dot points he will post on my behalf. That way everybody who is interested in the game can be kept in the loop. Not sure but I think Soren may do the same.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/12/2014 11:03:30 AM)

Hey you guys: Soren sent me his turn 1 END_TURN file and I can extract some stats from it to post here. Here's the air briefing from
the Soviet point of view.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/12/2014 11:08:45 AM)

According to Soren's inventory he's lost over 10K Rifle squads already. And it's only turn 1. I forecast lots of losses for both sides.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/12/2014 11:13:05 AM)

Here's a breakdown of the Soviet aircraft losses.Soren has lost a lot but he's making a bunch of them and there's more where those
came from.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/14/2014 2:37:36 PM)

Here's the Axis front line in the northern sector in T2. Notice how far it seems to be to reach Riga from where the lines are now. In the
old FITE game the Axis would be up to Riga already but this map is larger and the distance is further and John isn't there yet. But he's
pushing hard and it won't be long now. It's too early to determine whether or not Soren is falling back or just in garrison mode and can't
move his units. I'll have to ask him about it. John reports that Soren has moved most of his aircraft out of harm's way and his fighters
can't reach any juicy targets anymore. The situation calls for John to use his fighters in the CS mode for a while. Or INT might be more
appropriate because of all the Soviet units in movement.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/14/2014 2:42:21 PM)

Here's the next section further south. John has units entering the Marshes and he's already started to catch up to fleeing Soviet units.
The idea is to reach the east edge of the marshes and then drive north / south to trap lots of Soviet units on the west side of the river
to trap them and then the hammer approaches the anvil and closes the pocket. Or something like that.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/14/2014 2:51:25 PM)

Here's the next section south and as you can see John is leaving the trees behind and is entering the terrain made for warfighting. Nice
and level and only waterworks to deal with ( small creeks and minor rivers ). This map is so much bigger that Kiev doesn't show up in
the picture yet. There's a lot of units in motion and as I recall there's only very few Soviet units that can move yet because a lot of them
are in garrison mode. At least the Soviet units are spread out in a way to stiffle infiltration by the Germans. Slow down the Axis advance.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/14/2014 2:58:08 PM)

Here's some of John's ground losses so far: I gotta say: light losses for the extent of the pushing going on.

Cfant -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/14/2014 8:39:15 PM)

The time frame is still the same, true? 3,5 days a turn? I just wonder, with the map so much bigger, can the axis even reach Moscow before December, 1967?

fogger -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/15/2014 9:18:06 AM)

Movement allowances have been increased

fogger -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 8:27:02 AM)

This game has been on hold for a week or so as Soren found a major bug and he and the team have been working on fixing it. Good news is that we have started the game again and I have just posted my EOT file for the new turn 1 to Larry

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 11:21:53 AM)

Okie dokie..........here's the restarted T1 from the Axis point of view, northern section of the front lines. It's pretty much the same as
last time. Not very many of the Soviet units are showing on the map yet so as John advances more of them will appear. John and
Soren have more experience w/ the scenario now and some of John's moves may change from the first try to this one. I'm guessing
he's using the same game plan as last time since progress was truncated and the underlaying theme of the plan wasn't exposed to
Soren's view yet, pretty much, and the goals are the same as last time. In other words, this should be a tiny bit better game than the
last effort(s).

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 11:34:49 AM)

Here's the next section down from the first image above. John has units sneaking into the marshes again and this image is pretty much
like the last image. I'm guessing John is hoping to construct a really big pocket by spreading out on the east side of the marshes and
preventing the escape of the Soviet defenders to the east side of the major river(s). Soren is hoping to prevent that by blowing bridges
and leaving roadblocks at the major intersections and so on.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 11:42:19 AM)

Here's the next section looking south. John has some recon units way out front of the front lines. He's pressing hard on this
advance and even though the Soviet defenders aren't visible to a large extent they are out there and he's moving to find them all.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 11:47:51 AM)

Here's a close up of the tip of the spear up north. Notice how spread out the Soviet units appear, making it easier to infiltrate and make
a surround on the defenders. Most of the Axis units are mechanized and are more mobile than the Soviet units so it's looking like not
very many Soviets are going to get away. Soren is using the terrain to his best advantage I'm sure but you can't see it in this image
because Soren hasn't moved very many units yet. If any.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 11:52:02 AM)

Here's a section of the front lines up north that is closer to Minsk and Smolensk and illustrates how John is pushing his recon units out
in front clearing the path, clearing the roads, finding the defenders so the main body can plan ahead when one is found.

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 12:00:58 PM)

Here's a look at the area around the mouth of the marshes. Defenders are few and recon is out and the advance is progressing. It's too
early to say who's winning yet.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/69634F8E81CE44C2843933A387F7D799.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: FITE2 Soren(S) and Fogger(A) (5/19/2014 12:09:28 PM)

John has formed a sort of airdrome area w/ the assemblage of all the light blue aircraft units. I see some of them are showing red already
because of all the airfield strikes being conducted. John informs me that he's destroyed several thousand Soviet aircraft already.
If we had the END_TURN file from Soren we could get the numbers in the air war.
