Hi all, New purchase and download install (today win 7 64 bit), seems to work ok - but it says version 1.00.

If I need to get updates, where? how? (step by step pls). But my download/install file says:

"CommandModernAirNavalOperations-SetupRelease-v1.01.exe"

So what's the deal, and what do I do next? (again, I'm old and simple - Step-by-step please, if possible.)

Lastly, learning slowly, but it does work - reminds me of old Harpoon (no offense intended.)

Hi there!

Welcome aboard.

When you start the game, when you double click the command shortcut, does it go straight into the game or do you first get this launcher:

If you get that launcher like you see in the picture, just click "Check for update" by the B-2s right wingtip.
It'll come up with a new menu that tells you it's going to check for an update and you need internet connection etc.
Just hit next.

It might ask you to hit OK a few times. Then it'll either start downloading and running updates (clicking next or ok a few times might be needed) or it'll tell you your version is already up to date.

After that happens, start command and look in the top left for the build nr

In my picture it says 524 because I am in the closed beta. For you it will probably say 504 after patching which is the latest official patch I think. Before patching it might say a lower number.

If you cannot find the launcher, it should be either a desktop shortcut or run the file "autorun.exe" from your command folder (I dont remember what the default for that is, I believe C:\Matrix Games\Command Modern Air Naval Operations ?


If you get the build nr up to 504 then there is also public beta builds available (right now 522) that add new features but may introduce some new bugs as well or crash more often (hence why it's a public beta). So you ca choose to participate in that to get new features sooner (the public betas are really quite stable most of the time) or wait for the next official patch.

The public betas require a different way of installing so I would say lets get you to 504 first and then check back here and we can decide what to do next :)

If none of what I wrote (or only part) makes sense, then also ask and say what is confusing and I will do my best to help out with more detail

Just press the "check for updates" in the first screen and that will put your game up to the last oficial patch , this is V1.03

Then, if you like you can update the sim even more just downloading the latest public BETA patch in this forum, actually last public beta is build 521 available here, but this is a beta release meaning that are release just to help the devs to checks new functionalities of crack down some bugs.... said this I guarantee you that normally public beta are really stable and playables...
