markb50k -> Multiple Port Attacks sharing combat rounds (5/22/2014 11:05:23 AM)

There seems to be a bug in the way the game handled multiple port attacks going on at the same time.

Save game attached, beginning of Port Attack phase..

To reproduce:

- Assign CW CVP in Western Med to attack La Spezia
- Assign CW CVP in S. China Sea to attack Canton
(hit button to advance phase)
- Assign US CVP(s) in Bismarck to attack Truk

Then the game will do the surprise rolls..
La Spezia: Give Italy a 3 and CW a 10
Canton: Give Japan a 4 and CW a 10
Truk: Give Japan and US both 9s

now on to combat:

In the La Spezia attack, have Italy avoid combat. You'll notice the game gives them the option to assign surprise points to AVOID or increase/decrease AA FIRE. Choose AVOID

Next it will show the AVOID popup message and the RTB phase for the CW CVP.

Next it will show the Canton attack. You'll notice that the game gives them the option to assign surprise points to AVOID or increase/decrease NAVAL COMBAT column. It does NOT give option for AA FIRE. It seems the program is not resetting back to AA FIRE sub-phase after the Italians Avoided in the prior combat. Choose AVOID.

Next it will show the AVOID popup message and the RTB phase for the CW CVP.

Next it will show the RTB phase for the US CVP!! Not even allowing the port attack to go. Again it seems the program is skipping the AA phase and the NAV attack phase, since it did those phases for the other two combats.

So somewhere a variable is not being reset and each successive port attack being done is starting off where the previous combat ended.

AxelNL -> RE: Multiple Port Attacks sharing combat rounds (5/22/2014 8:40:09 PM)

There is a bug hitting in when avoiding combat using surprise points in port attacks. I have had fatal result in two cases during one single port attack, but it looks like multiple attacks makes the bug effect different.

It is on the list for the naval release after the production release. If many folks are stuck because of it we could petition Steve to prioritize this as a game blocker.
