Does anyone know what the current status of SSG is? Their website shows no activity after 2010. I just got one of their games and fell in love with it. I fervently hope they are still going strong.

I remember reading in another thread a few months ago about a guy who asked the same question. I remember a person answering that it was a two or three man team and one of the gentlemen had passed away so SSG more or less dissolved. It was somewhere on the Matrix Forums.

Thanks for the info.

Ian Trout died and Roger Keating thereafter moved into teaching computer science. I think I recall that Roger was quoted as saying that the SSG game code would not be put into the public domain for fan-based enhancement. There's probably still a minor cash flow coming from the games.

They were a great partnership.

Thanks for the link. I usually check in over there to see if anything was happening but hadn't been over there for a while. That would be good news indeed.

My second computer War Game ever was an SSG game for C-64, Battlefront, I was hooked on SSG games ever since then.

Thanks
Rick

Aye, SSG's Russia was probably the ultimate computer wargame for me for a long long time.

I enjoyed every single one of their products, worth every dollar I spent.
