its a great game - the best in fact for operational napoleonic war - no other game comes close to the uniqueness of the Campaigns on the Danube series - except perhaps Franks other games in other theatres, though the Fog of War modelling is one of a kind. The battles resolution varies depending on what level of fog of war is chosen - if it is full fog of war, which is the best way to play, then battle resolution options arent available as information is relayed back to you as reports and so you arent involved in any kind of battlefield tactics , as you are not even 100% sure of where your units are apart from what reports tell you, which though may be late, incorrect or duplicates of a other reports etc. but if you select the normal fog of war for such games, which lets you know at least which units on you side are where, then i believe that allows the battle resolution to involve some tactic options like Empires in Arms options.
