As the moments tick down to VE Day Lets take a moment to recognize all those gamers who have worked so hard to improve SP. I'll start the list... add the names of those you know so that hopefully none will be forgotten. Fred Chandla, the creator of the program that made all the SP variants possible. Wild Bill's Raiders (past and present) whose creative efforts and terrific web site gave us all some place to go for our next SP fix! Scott Grasse. Developed an oustanding OOB for SP1 as well as a fine OOB manual I still refer to. There are many more....Lets say thanks to all of them we can...Please add to this list

Paul Vebber -> (5/7/2000 1:31:00 AM)

IF you have to thank one person, it has to be Mike Wood. With out his programming skill and game design sense, this thing would have had NO CHANCE of ever occuring...

Andy Gailey: another OOB tinker and Brit OOB spec Fionn Kelley: self-propelled afv encyclopedia Gary Grigsby & Keith Brors: self-explainatory SSI/TLC/Mindscape/whoever: for giving out source code of SP TGN's SP forum :-) for coming up with thousands of more-and-less important things

Paul Vebber -> (5/7/2000 5:09:00 AM)

Actually Andy Gaily is working the SP:WW2 side of the house and was not involved in SP:WaW.

Mark_Ezra -> (5/7/2000 8:52:00 AM)

My original intent was to celebrate all the folks that worked on SP and all it's variants. Not only those great folks but the people who put web sites up to share the fun and information so many of us were seeking, guys who put tactcal manuals, campaign spread sheets, you name it. If you can remember an old (or new) name and contribution please share it with the forum

Paul Vebber -> (5/7/2000 9:25:00 AM)

And my point was not to take away from what Andy has contributed to SP in general, just provide clarification that he is part of a seperate effort from this one. The two groups complement each other in the SP community, no disrespect was intended.

Allow me, Mark, to praise the SPWAW beta team. These guys have worked under tremendous pressure for the last month as they designed and tested both scenarios and campaigns for the new SPWAW. I don't think I have ever worked with a more responsive willing bunch of guys than these. Nearly all of them have been there for me to help provide what I think is a great selection of battles to enjoy the many thrilling features of SPWAW. And of course, to you and the thousands like you, who have stood with us with your support and encouragement. Thank you very much! We must not forget David Heath. He had the vision and the determination to see this through. It was David's idea to be sure this game was made Windows compatible. He was told it could not be done. He refused to believe it. He stayed with it and with us till the impossible was done. You have to admire a person with that kind of determination. The OOBs are largely the work of Paul Vebber. He is another unsung hero. No one can imagine the bulk of work involved in completely revamping the OOB for 27 different countries over a 20 year period. Paul is a champ! My helmet is off to all of you...Wild Bill ------------------ Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games
