Kado -> Pods? (5/31/2014 8:42:45 PM)

Hello there!

I acquired this great simulation some weeks ago and I am slowly getting into modern air/naval warfare. These forums and of course Baloogan [&o] have been very helpful. But I still can't figure out what pods are and how they work. I've tried to look it up via Google with only limited success. Could you, guys, please, recommend some article to me or possibly write some short summary? Every bit of help is appreciated!

Thank you!

They most likely are ECM or jamming pods. If you want to stay out of the details, just turn ECM on through the sensor box. Manual page 38 gives a short description.

Hi Kado! Sorry I didn't get back to your youtube comment, I was distracted by a sim that I was playing!

Pods are optional pieces of equipment that get attached to aircraft on certain missions. They are kinda like bombs, but you don't drop them during a mission. Most pods are for electronic warfare, like thewood mentioned, but some add sensors!

For example some versions of the F-16 can take this

pod into battle! It has a special camera that can track both air units and land units and can lase targets for laser guided bombs!

Basically pods add features to the aircraft that carries them; and for many loadouts they are not optional. Can't drop laser guided bombs without a laser to guide them!

Thanks Baloogan! You realy have the rare ability to clarify some complicated stuff in a simple way. Have you ever considered a career of school teacher? [:D] Anyway, thanks once again and I am looking forward for your next stream! [&o]
