Latka -> Small suggestion (3/18/2001 7:57:00 AM)

I would guess there's a "feature freeze" on right now 'cause the next release is soon to come out, but... I was wondering if it would be possible to add a clock to SPWaW... maybe right above the little map in the lower right hand corner - that way we can keep track of time without having to look away from the screen :) -Andy

Alby -> (3/18/2001 10:29:00 PM)

Ur kidding right??!!

Latka -> (3/19/2001 1:15:00 AM)

Why, does the idea not make sense?

Paul Vebber -> (3/19/2001 2:09:00 AM)

Frankly for the times I've started a game at 10pm and suddenly found it 2am a real time clock would not be a bad thing :-) It won't be in v5 though...

Alby -> (3/19/2001 9:22:00 AM)

man, has society become so lazy, we cant take 2 seconds to look over at the clock on the wall???? LOL just razzin ya all :)

Latka -> (3/19/2001 2:55:00 PM)

Alby, I'm too lazy to buy a clock :) Hahahaha... then again, $10 would probably solve the problem...but I bent Paul's ear, so hopefully it'll make it on the feature list at some point! :) Andy

Since this is a windows program, what is wrong with alt-tab to jump out and then clicking on the taskbar button to get back in. You can check the taskbar clock while at the desktop. If I am running a long sim, I will let it run when I am not using the comp, and just alt-tab back out if I need the comp again. I have even go so far as to load a second SPWaW to get to the encyclopedia during a game. I can then alt-tab to read up on my target, if it isn't something I am used to fighting. thanks, John.

Latka -> (3/21/2001 7:39:00 AM)

'cause ALT-TAB takes too long :) Hahahhaha... jeez, I am lazy afterall!

Don -> (3/21/2001 10:51:00 AM)

The problem I have with Alt-Tab is that I lose the log below the action! Sometimes I can get away with it, but sooner or later I'll come back into the game and no log. I've taken to saving and quitting when I want to check something outside the game. The clock idea isn't that bad, but I don't know how they would account for all the different time zones.

Wild Bill -> (3/21/2001 2:35:00 PM)

I have a built-in alarm clock already. A voice from the bedroom pierces the din of the battle..."Are you ever coming to bed?" Oops, doesn't matter what time it is...it is time to quit :D Wild Bill

Latka -> (3/21/2001 3:23:00 PM)

Glad I'm not the only one who hears that, Wild Bill! "Oh, you're playing Steel Panthers again. Well, don't wake me up when you come to bed." ...at least she gets points for knowing what it is!

Charles2222 -> (3/21/2001 9:07:00 PM)

Don: I'm thinking you don't know this already, so please excuse the information if I'm incorrect here. The reason the log is lost is because of hitting the tab key when hitting alt-tab. Normally I wouldn't assume the tab function would both switch to another window/desktop and also do the tab function, but that sure appears to be what it is doing. When you get back to your program, just hit tab again and the log is back.

Oh thanks boys for a thousands of laughs !! But now ...Can you understand this ? I went to bed quite early that night turning off TV because : '''yawn...oh baby...I am so tired tonight - ;) ;) - ''' and with a whisper within a flattering smile : oh honey , will you...help me in resting my poor bones tonight ? That night it was particularly hard to handle those damned endlessly T-34/85s and I didn't hear what was approaching to my seat... A face in the darkness looking at me... with mouth opened.... -"eh ? Are you still playing Stul..-Stal-Pin-(sh*t) Panders again ?? ah-ha ! but weren't you so 'tired' tonight ?? " -"uh ?
