If you have two races in your empire and they offer similar bonuses, do the effects stack? Say you are playing Teekan with +40% mining and +20% colony income, what benefit will you get from Wekkarus for example? Will the bonuses stack, or will you only get the biggest of them?

Basically what I am asking should I diversify my empire's population, or specialise?

I think they will only pick the highest bonus and never stack? I played as Humans once and I conquered and tried to assimilate an alien race with research bonus, my research bonus stayed the same but I got other bonuses from that race.I think you don't get all the bonuses from a particular race though or I could be wrong. I don't know if there is a limit for the race bonuses you could receive and how it is determined since I already controlled around 7 or more races but I only got a single bonus from 3 of them.
