Guedez -> How do i convince my minions to spread out? (6/5/2014 3:21:21 AM)

I want to make the galaxy a pure place, full of those of my species, but they refuse to spread to conquered colonies (i got about 3, will have plenty more soon). I am using the lava bugs currently, i got two ice colonies, at first i assumed that the lava bugs didn't like ice, and until i had ice colonization, they would not go there.

However they did anyways, to only one of them, the other one is full of assorted **** like humans...

I tried to up my main colony to 80% tax, but all it did was make sure they would not pay any tax at all... nobody moved out.

The conquered colonies basically add the characteristics of the conquered species to your empire, e.g. the indigenous population is more or less (unless you exterminated or resettled them) still there. Now, what about the mining ships you say? More details about your form of government or a save file would be helpful. I guess you're in the red because you overextended your empire. 3 more colonies cost a lot to maintain.

How would you expect your proud lava bugs to ever want to move to a weird continental full of smelly humans that can't separate one hive from another?

From my experience, the fast breeders move around quite well as they fill their colonies, but nothing happens instantly in this game.

I regularly have the same problem.

To deal with it, i try this (but it's always mid to long term strategy)
- if there is a colonizable planet in the sector of the newly conquered worlds, i colonize it and Don't accept or Exterminate all other races.
- i wait for population to grow to 1B or so
- meanwhile, i make sure there is room on the conquered worlds by either exterminating or resettle
- after some time, you'll see your own kind starting to populate the conquered worlds.

If there is no colonizable planet at all, then choose the less populated conquered world and exterminate the population totally, effectively destroying the colony. Resettle with a colony ship of your own kind.

If the conquered worlds are away from any colonizable planet and the type of the conquered worlds are not colonizable by your kind due to tech unavailability, then have patience... the ugly furless monkeys will be dealt with sooner or later... enslave them in the meantime! [:D]

But all this take a lot of time... and troops on the exterminated worlds to prevent rebellions.

It's a lot of work for just role playing reasons.I would like to some sort of bonus to "pure" planets.

naaaay... it's more greedyness that roleplaying since it serves to get rid of the -5 happiness for being in an empire you don't like so that you can squeeze a bit more taxes from citizens before outright rebellion [:D]

what? it's more efficient to just leave the bugs be? (yeah, i'm not like Guedez, i usually play the ugly furless monkeys getting rid of the cockroaches) Yes, i know it would be more efficient, but i'm playing the manly man way to play! [sm=happy0029.gif]
