For the past few years (ya, I let it go that long), I've wanted to get this game, but work and school have prevented it. I know that my life would disappear into a black hole if I did, but now that school is over I can say I'm an owner of WITP-AE. I remember playing a lot of Uncommon Valor and that I wanted this one. I've followed the forums now and then with envy. I'm hoping its still not too late and that this game's following is still strong. I know that certain people in my life anticipated this major move in my life; but I believe I am prepared for all major consequences.

LOL. I'm loving these comments. Thanks for the warm welcome. Getting my feet wet with the Battle of Coral Sea to familiarize myself with mechanics. A lot like Uncommon Valor, but very fine tuned.

Stele, take time to read the manual ( and learn to Control+F its contents) and try to play the Coral Sea scenario before jumping into the grand campaign.

Like others have said, welcome to your first 12 step meeting, "I'm addicted to AE." [:D] Get the last official patch and then get the latest Beta. They will give you enhancements that make the game even better.

You can always adopt in order to bring new players in. My youngest daughter {we adopted her at age 3 from China} used to sit on my lap and watch me play "Ding Ding" {The bell tones at the startup of the game}. Of course now that she is older and has an older sister, the only thing she wants to do is watch "Frozen".....which gives me about two hours of uninterrupted play time. Thank You Disney!

Ok. I recently came across this site after looking through the forum https://sites.google.com/site/n01487477/ Took me awhile to figure out why I couldn't load troops when I discovered that I had to release them from "restricted." Are there other sites or videos I should be aware of? I moved on to the Guadalcanal scenario, which is essentially what the game Uncommon Valor covered.
