barrenrock used first 4 images;
continental used first 4 images;
forest used first image;
iceglacial used first 3 images;
marshyswamp used first 3 images;
ocean used first 2 images;
sandydesert used first 3 images;
volcanic used first 2 images;

Landscapes original size

Landscapes increase size 640x320 --- wrong size in galaxy map screen

These are awesome! It's a shame the game doesn't let you use more than the default amount, but any combination of these is better than those images in the vanilla game.

NEW LANDSCAPES

Unfortunately, at the present moment DW has a hard-coded limit to use only few first images. So it uses only 4 images for continental planets (+1 from forest folder), 3 for desert, marshyswamp and ice planets, 2 for volcanic and oceanic planets. Hopefully this will be fixed in "Shadows" release, but for now most of these landscapes wouldn't appear in the game.

Thats knowing since Martins GEM Mod. Its a shame....

AstroCat -> RE: New landscapes images. (6/14/2014 9:49:42 PM)

Also now DW has that super annoying scaling issue, so if you use these in game they get super cropped. You need to resize, crop and scale them to at least 258x182, otherwise they get super cut off in-game.

Shame? I apologize for the fact that I have not read every post on the forum ;)

Strangely I did not see, it will be necessary to look.

AstroCat -> RE: New landscapes images. (6/15/2014 10:31:56 AM)

Are you saying it looks ok, even though the image is zoomed in? Like this?

[image]http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p788/astrocat2/2014-06-15_051927_zps78df2b62.jpg[/image][image]http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p788/astrocat2/2014-06-15_052002_zpsff61486f.jpg[/image]

Because I resized the images (not same as above, but you get the idea) and now they look like this:

[image]http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p788/astrocat2/2014-06-15_052910_zps64f39ef6.jpg[/image][image]http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p788/astrocat2/2014-06-15_052940_zps46ce7423.jpg[/image]

So, if you intended for them to be zoomed in that is ok, I'll just resize/rescale for my game. Or are you saying in your game they display correctly with no resizing? If that is the case let me know because something is wrong with my game.

Thanks.

Ra131 -> RE: New landscapes images. (6/15/2014 11:08:07 AM)

Oh you're right, I just never went there :)))) There really is no true test size. Will fix it ...
But I have played around with the size noticed something else.

------

Bad bug :(
Added original size images.

necaradan666 -> RE: New landscapes images. (6/15/2014 1:09:53 PM)

I just tried using a 1024x768 image like the modding guide suggests as maximum, came out unscaled only showing the top left corner of the image.

AstroCat -> RE: New landscapes images. (6/15/2014 1:22:23 PM)

Yeah because the game is totally bugged out right now with rendering images. Really frustrating, I hope they can fix it.

Hopefully if enough of us keep posting tech support reports, they'll notice it.

Dd_01 -> RE: New landscapes images. (6/15/2014 1:25:02 PM)

IIRC landscapes should be 240x180 to be displayed correctly.

You have misunderstood me. Sry. Its a shame because the game use so few pictures. I like your work and involvement.
