I think it would be a great addition to CMANO if the player could set the ammo usage of units under ROE, so you don't have to micro that much with manual attack.

For example: AEGIS ship firing at non threatening hostile plane, you could set it to minimum, only firing one missile at a time.

Another unit, on a strike mission attacking a CV, its mission specific roe ammo usage could be set to overkill mode, firing everything it has.

I usually set a global HOLD FIRE until I want units to open up. Otherwise I handle small engagements.

I asked for something like this a while ago. Didn't receive any answer...

We absolutely get where you're coming from especially when its about picking off a single MPA or a high percentage case like that. The problem is with missile salvo's etc. as hit percentages are low enough where a ship would expend its ammo until the threat was gone. What do you think about that case?

In my opinion, the simulation has it just about right.

In true low-intensity situations, you can use the HOLD FIRE option and manage ammo usage manually.

I can say, with some degree of confidence, that in a high-intensity situation (say, a bunch of inbound anti-ship missiles) it is both inaccurate and unrealistic to believe that a ship or unit would be stingy with ammo usage. In that case, I suspect they would fire everything they have to save their rear end, and worry about ammo stockage later.

This has been on my to-do list since we started developing Command, but it is a rather complex matter due to the great number of parameters that would affect the AI's decisions. Command is a horribly complex sim, lol!

This functionality is bundled with a larger work package that we hopefully will be able to start working on sometime after Christmas.
