These ideas are excellent, BUT- Sooner or later, you've got to assert yourself with surface combat TFs. You may take the occasional lickin', but you gotta keep on tickin'. Your cruisers will get chewed up and you will have precious few battleships to commit, but D@mn Good Tanaka and company have got to be sent packing. Work this in conjunction with your slowly growing superiority in CVs (at least, I hope you have that - if not, you're in a world of sh!t). The idea is to work your way to a position of dominance in the Guadalcanal area, sea, land, and air. All elements have to contribute to the effort. Don't neglect to build Lunga into a major airbase, but your navy has to protect it in order for it to stay operational in the early going. Eventually, your air assets at Lunga make it possible for your ships to operate more comfortably in the area. Success with one element contributes to success in the others (and, of course, failure with one works a hardship on the others). One last thing - Tulagi is definitely a secondary concern. The port is nice, but it contributes little else.
