Some scenarios (e.g. "South China Clash") start with reference points already on the map. I like an uncluttered map for my own planning, so I usually delete these points right away. Is there any downside to deleting them? Will this affect event conditions, uncontrolled allies, or other things I can't see?

Possibly, depending on what the scenario author has programed. You can always reduce the size, but then again if you use your own, they will be small as well.

Often, if the scenario is playable by multiple sides, the Ref Pts will be set for missions which are inactive for the human side - so can be deleted, but they may also be linked to an event or a trigger.

If a scenario is playable by only one side, I wouldn't delete any RPs as the author has no reason to put them there except for events and triggers.

RPs are only good for one side, so uncontrolled allies or enemies won't be affected ( I think there is a suggestion to change that though, so that may not always be true)

You could always ask the author and he can let you know, or at the risk of giving up secrets, you could go into the editor and check what the RPs are linked to.

It would be a great feature to have a 'lock and hide to player' option on reference points to help reduce clutter of event only points.

Reminder: you can set ref points to be half-size or even invisible.

To hide event only RP just create a third side, for instance "event", and then create all the events in that side with God' s Eye... This way the human player will have his screen free of all the RP you have use to scrip the scenario.....

No, I can use RPs on side A to affect something of side B. But that also makes it possible for the scenario author to keep the RPs out of the way of the player side, which is nice [:)]

Excellent! - I'll give that a whirl. Learn something new every day. Thanks.

Brilliant.... I never thought of even trying that.
